Hello everyone, I just received a message from Peter saying my RH400 in Citic Pacific Mining livery is ready and on its way to me. He was kind enough to send me a photo of the finished model.
After it arrives I will take further photos showing you the livery which is on the front and rear of the machine. You will also notice the smaller non-amenities cab on this version,, please enjoy
This first photo is of the model

The next photo is of the real machine which operates in their mine in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia's Iron Ore Country

Enjoy the photos, and as I said above, when it arrives I will post a comprehensive range of photos for those interested

Regards from down under

Congratulations!

She's a real beauty, and the yellow railings add a nice color contrast. The small cab and folding staircase are also quite distinctive!

I'm curious about one thing though; after reading your commentary about the accuracy of decals on the RH300, I wonder what you think after seeing the photo(s) of this model?

I have been told that the Sino machine (your model) was the last to leave Dortmund with any O&K insignias. After that; they were decorated like this:

(photo is from this year's calendar)

Please use this before clicking "post"??? You may be surprised with what you see!

The last shovel to have any O&K markings on it was the electric version that went to South Africa. The next machine ordered and built would be in this scheme if it were not for the BI take over. As a result of the takeover, any subsequent machines will be decorated in a new colour scheme that is yet to be announced, but will be BI corporate colours.

Brian,

Are you referring specifically to only new 400's{if there are any currently under construction} or any RH series excavators built since Jan 2009? I have never seen the latest scheme{new model number graphics with single black stripe around s/structure and no 'O&K' after 'Terex'}applied to any new Terex mining excavators.

Any pics to share if so? Will all the equipment that BI purchases from Terex under the Mining sector all be completely integrated at once into the new owners corporate colours and be completely rebadged as "Bucyrus" machines with new model numbers applied?

I am very interested in this new transition.I wait in anticipation.....Anxious

Regards

Sorry Brian,
I was referring to the RH400s only. I haven't seen a real machine in the new colours yet, but I'm sure they are out there. Now the new BI colours, I can only imagine will be very similar to the stock cable shovel colours.

Congratulation with an fantastic model!
The only thing I notice, is that you have a O&K and tripower decal, and the actual machine have a terex and tripower decal...
My model also have the black O&K and tripower decals, and the RH400 no. 6 have a red O&K decal. I wonder why P. Keim does not have the right decals...

Sturla,

I also cannot understand why all 3 of the most recent RH 400's which he has produced, featured on DHS forums, have had these "very outdated" 'O&K Tri-power' decals applied to their sticks!!!!

Silly mistake -in my opinion- that should not really occur when one is paying a real "premium" for a very special, custom handmade model.

That said, the models are all brilliant and would certainly be the centrepiece of most mining equipment collections.

Helllo Chris, this Topic ended up that far back in the system I just assumed everyone quickly lost interest in it, so I didn't bother adding the photos when it arrived. Rather than just Post the every day photos of the unit, I will add the variations done to this RH400 as opposed to others that Peter Keim has made to replicate the Oil Sand versions,
This first one shows the Top Deck variation including the airconditioning unit & fire supression system

This next shot shows the right hand side collapsable steps and the 4 x Oil Cooling Fans, the Oil Sand models only have two fans, slightly larger and no R/H escape steps

This next one shows the folding steps on the left side. Other models have a non folding style steps
that just slide up, and don't bend like these ones do.

and the last photo shows the smaller 340 style non amenities cab

Enjoy the photos, and I must say it is a great model, well made, great detail in every way

Regards from down under

Thanks for posting the photo's Peter, wasn't expecting them to be quite that quick! I was actually searching for the other forum member (other than mitchtim) who received a P.K. RH400 (couldn't find the thread) when I came accross yours.

It's quite refreshing seeing one done considerably different to the majority of other's, not just the color scheme but the little details like some of which you have mentioned. I notice he did away with the uncanny factory "off-set" stairway (which do not meet Australian standards) to the top deck much like Citic's real deal also - the oil sand's version's have these.

You can guarantee the oil sand's never get temprature's like they do in the summer month's in the Pilbara. Same deal with the PC8000's - need the 'tropical pack' down under (unless your at Cadia) or like the dash 1's at KCGM which have a resistor after the hydraulic temp PT100 sensor.

Anyway, great model, been considering getting one myself - another Oz replica!
