Ok...first things first...

I have been frequenting this site for quite some time now, and have enjoyed sharing my Lego models with all of you. Thanks for letting me tag along and have some fun even though I do not own even one Diecast model..Whistle

That being said...

I finally broke down and bought my first model. It is a factory color 11200....Smile

So, seeing how I work for a sign company, and we have a nice paint mixing room and state of the art downdraft booth that I can use anytime I want, I figure I might as well try my hand at repainting one of these models...we can match any RAL or Pantone codes with the push of a button...

So, what would everyone like to see done? I am not partial to any particular company, so anything goes. I have access to printing and plotting machines, so I can also make any color decals that I please..

So, Who should I do?? Think

Thoughts???

-Alvin.

that sounds like heaven!!!!!!! Teeth Teeth

you are gonna get bombarded with options and opinions, and if it works out,you could make a pretty penny from custom paints for customers Wink Wink

is there an updated list of crane hire companies that have ordered/recieved their 11200's?

and congrats on the first diecast!!!!Teeth Teeth

a nice simple one to get you started Teeth

The complex of Newgrange was originally built between c. 3100 and 2900 BC,[2] meaning that it's aproximately 5,000 years old. According to Carbon-14 dates,[3] it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years.

im dying for one in this livery, i was gonna do a repaint but i have a feeling this one will be released from NZG as a factory repaint so im holding off on it, i would rather they paint it instead of me

Congrats on your first diecast model and what a one to start with!!. There's no going back now!.

The Van Marwijk is indeed a stunning livery but how about the Grohmann?.

http://forums.dhsdiecast.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=122835

I'm not sure if it's being produced by NZG and I haven't seen a custom version yet so perhaps you could be the first to do one?.

Oh, and I seem to remember something but is there a 11200 coming to America?. Maybe a custom of that one would be especially special since you're from America.

1 thing i know for sure.... somebody (NZG) better release an 8 axles boom trailer for the 112.... that one they have coming out is only used by Mammoet and quite frankly i dont find it appealing at all, i want a nice 8 axle trailer!!! Pray Pray

This link is a gold mine. Shows all the companies that have got one or ordered one. Personally, I think you should do Northern Crane services.
It's up to you.
Congratulations on getting one.
Cheers

Congratulations on an excellant choice for a first 1:50 diecast crane. You do have a challenge ahead of you for a re-paint, but just have patience. One of my favorite is Mediaco or go with Turner Bros which is here is the USA. Good luck with your re-paint project.

For me it's gonna be Ainscough, Roxu or Grohmann. Mediaco could be a nice choice too...

Is Ainscough planning on getting one of these guys??? If so, I may already be sold on what I am going to do it in!!!

The good thing is most of my time will be involved in the dismantling and prep...then reassembly without muffin up that new paint job!! (I can prolly slip our painter a six pack to do the "actual spraying....)

Definitely ROXU! There have been a few repaints now and although I've heard some people talking about it, I have yet to see one. The colors just pop, such a good looking machine!

x 4

My first repaint was on a KMK 4080 aka GMK 4070 from Auto russia. And for ME,was a challenge.I've repainted 3 or 4 times certain pieces cause didn't like the color, chipped during management etc.

Take in mind that this crane doesn't has much pieces to fight. It is a die-cast crane from the "past"

But a LTM 11200 is another story(too many pieces).Never impossible, but you can do it.

I think that the key is patience.Which most of the time I don't have. But if you have it (patience)....Go for it!!

Cheers.
