My trilogy of the big CATs is coming to an end now. After 345d and 385c here is the 374d that will replace the 365c in Caterpillar´s excavator lineup. At least,I think it will.I will have the model with me in Bemmel next weekend (table number 343,near the Noteboom shop).

See You in Bemmel,
Jan

Basically it´s the classic custom model made of the 365c FS and the boom from a 365bl.
Here´s a list of what I changed:

-replaced the turas wheels and modified the undercarriage to make the new ones fit

-stripped off the paint from the rest of the model and totally repainted it

-remade the side panels on the cab side

-added a little more counterweight

-modified the walkways

-put on a resin copied cab from a 320d

-reworked the cab guard

-all new handrails, ladders and mirrors made from brass

-all new hydraulic lines

-added front lights

-new exhaust pipe

-custom made rock bucket and quick coupler

-put on new decals

I believe the new numbering system represents the actual tonnage of the machines.

thats the way it used to be..... a 325 was a 25t excavator...... so now a 323 is still a 23t excavator? the #s just sound funny is all

Cat's excavators don't always use the last two numbers to tell the tons. A 329D L weights 32tons, and a 385 weights 93 tons so close but no cigar.

Amazing model, can't get over how much talent you have!

I think they should just leave the model numbers alone,in years to come the 374 will gain weight too and become god knows, its the complete opposite with the cranes the LTM11200 can't lift 1200tons but its still a 1200ton crane lol, they should name them like cars lol

Janh, you did it again, another beaut!!!!!!! Applause Applause Applause
you'll be so annoyed if cat change it to a 373 or 375 Teeth Teeth

Why is "phonetically" spelt with a "ph"?

... It's better to be silent and thought a fool, then to speak up and remove all doubt

The complex of Newgrange was originally built between c. 3100 and 2900 BC,[2] meaning that it's aproximately 5,000 years old. According to Carbon-14 dates,[3] it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years.

Actually, the LTM 11200 can lift 1200 metric tons: Liebherr 11200-9.1 overview

Technical data

max. lifting capacity 1200 t at 2,5 m radius
