Monday I got myself the new Siku Fendt 936 tractor in 1/50 scale.

Overall a nice model, but rather poor details.
So I took it into the workshop and this is how it looks now:

The bad thing is,it hasn´t got any front or back linkage. So you only can connect a trailer.

Does anybody have some photos of the Athearn John Deeres or the Joal CAT Challenger?
Am I right that none of these has got a functional linkage either?

Siku will release some more 1/50 scale tractor models this year.

Nice Jan.... You did a nice "get a real life" tractor. The details that you add are nice

I hope to see them in this side of the pond... I need a couple to do some custom works...

I have the John deere Athern and it,s basicly a bloc of steel... nothing works...

Thanks for this pics

The 9620 just has a couple basic holes in the back. I'd like to see more 1/50 farm stuff.

Really nice job, i especially like the details that you added to the cab. I spent a good 5 mins looking and you've done a heap of work! Can't wait to see what you do with the Deere, it's a great looking tractor!

Lots of small modifications.
I repainted the front weight, the mud guards on the front axle and the cab roof, because the looked too much like plastic.
The handrails on the cab are made of brass rod,the lights come from my grabble box.And I also used nailart chrystals. The orange lights on the cab are 3mm LEDs.Mirrors are modified from the Siku Terex backhoe loader.
I put black decal strips on the cab windows, used a razor blade from an electric razor to modify the exhaust pipe, also modified the fuel tank a bit.
The additional parts for the wheels I made myself. These parts are available from me.

I have most of the Athearn Deere tractors and the three Joal Cat Challengers. I forgot about my Athearn Deere disk and 7700 Combine. I hope CCM comes out with a better Cat Challenger.

I added weight kits by Ad to my 9620s

I added duals to a 7820

Meanwhile I found out that it is possible to fix an attachment in two different positions on the Siku models.

At least I think, that it is,what this part is meant for. Will be interesting to see,if the upcoming models have this, too.

So,I made a log grabber today.

the connection parts on the grabber:

Nice work Janh, the tractor - trailer option is very common on Irish sites, particularly among among small contractors and guys who only have one excavator.

Janh, the Athearn Deere tractors have a drawbar, the 6420 has no drawbar or 3pt. hitch-very poor. I have the Athearn Deere disk but it does dot fit on any of the tractors I have. I do not have the 4020 so I can't say if it fits on that one or not. The 5010 does have a nice looking 3pt. hitch and quick coupler but it does not move. In my opinion the 9620 and the 5010 are the only two worh owning as the details on them are pretty good and the 9620 has glass in the cab the 7820 and 6420 do not.

The Joal Cat Challengers have a very poor 3pt. hitch with a quick coupler, it does move up and down. The strange thing is there is to top link on it.

fresh out of the box: The Deere 8430 from Siku

I have started with new wheel hubs again that I´m painting at the moment.I will have photos with the new parts tomorrow.I will also add front and work lights, mirrors and some other details just like I did on the Fendt 936.

And later I will try and convert this into a forestry tractor with a crane on the back.

First I have put on custom made inserts for the front rims and added a little colour on the rear ones.

Next is with the wheel weights in the rear wheels.

The inserts will be for sale, soon.
For my forestry conversion I won´t need the wheel weights. So I will proceed from the first photo.

today´s progress:

I have replaced the front lights with real diamonds. Teeth

and built the cage around the cab.The crane for the rear is on order. Also,I´m thinking about a custom wood chipper on a trailer. Think This would make a good match with this tractor.

looks good, specially the cage....I have contemplated trying to put together a brass cage for one of the athearn John Deere models...but I haven't gotten there yet...Looking forward to seeing it painted up....I really like what you did with the Fendt too!
