Blimey!, that looks awesome. Have you decided what the hull and lifting cranes will be made of?.

Please do keep us posted on your progress.

About 90% wood and then Sintra for the cabins thorleif. Right now, I am considering using PVC pipe for the booms and gantrys.

here are some more pics from last night and this morning:

Come On Bob...We all know that it is not a bomb...it is an alternative moving device....Just think how many workers you could get to move quick if that thing got thrown around????? Cool

Bob

You mean you DON'T have a 500lb bomb lying around...? Every home should have one.

The build is looking great and I'm looking forward to more progress pics.

Its actually a submarine that the crane barge is going to salvage, he's going to stick on an array on it to make it look the part Teeth

Didnt expect to see something this big, best of luck with really looking forward to seeing it progress

Getting there on the truss. two more swinging sections yet to build.

The truss is 63" long when fully extended and 36" when the sides are folded back this equates to 262'-"6 in extended mode and 150' in retracted mode.

My Grandson is coming in for the rest of the week, so I will not get much more done until the end of the weekend.

Grandson got delayed so I got to do a little more on the barge.

Here is the start of one of the two main segments:

Below:
Ripped plywood for sides, ends and inside reinforcement.

Below:
Need to build two of these and a third center segment that is a few inches narrower.

Below:
Man! This is eating up a lot of plywood. Smiley

Been gone all week but have made some headway today.

Rearmost compartment is to flood when under heavy load at bow.

We will need to have a separate pond with sand on the bottom at York so some marine salvage and dredging operations can exist.Whistle

It actually is 1:50. But since it is an ocean going barge it is large in nature.

Here is an example of one next to the typical inland waterways barge. Note the crawler crane and "A" frame on the smaller barge:

Lotsacrane,

It's VERY stand off. No insider info on this build. Just a wandering mind.
