I have the 1/16th scale 9CY dragline bucket almost ready for testing.

Here's the shackle that holds everything on the hoist line

Looks great!
I love buckets, I once built a clamshell bucket for my Manitowoc, great little project.

Excellent! Keep up the good work.

Dump on the edges, the middle will take care of itself.
Never look down on ANYONE! Unless it is to lift them up.

wow!! super work there!! great pictures, thanks for sharing

Why is "phonetically" spelt with a "ph"?

... It's better to be silent and thought a fool, then to speak up and remove all doubt

The complex of Newgrange was originally built between c. 3100 and 2900 BC,[2] meaning that it's aproximately 5,000 years old. According to Carbon-14 dates,[3] it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years.

Still a ways to go. I want to make sure it balances properly before I make all the wear strips. I still need about 2wks of work (evenings) to machine the hitch parts and sockets. Ultimately I want to redo the cutting edge by milling a solid piece and have the teeth replaceable like the real one.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I was pushing to go to the watch fob show this week end but I just couldn't put everything in order. Most of the day I've been working on the fairlead supports that need to be fully bolted up to carry the added weight of the bucket.
Here's a view from the front and those tiny 0-80 nuts are a pain to get installed because they are not accessible straight on for my nut driver.

Looking from the rear.
