Hi all
Got my order from here, DHS, One of these brutes with the jib kit. Well i have a few problems
1. One of the main boom pendent lines pulled through. I put it back in but now its to short! 2. the part of boom thats for the extended jib has broke where the screws go.
I don't know what to do. Get another ex tendered jib section? Also, make the other pendent line short too?
Oh and what a prick of a thing to put together. The part that the pendent line scres into, mine was tangled up.

^ thats the best part of having a model crane, you get to spend hours playing with it, and bond with it haha

Dunno about bonding with it! When that gantry was tangled up, made me very cranky. But i have it up in the air, for now.

Undoing a tangled gantry is not that difficult,(but it helps if your Grandmother taught you how to play Cat's Cradle!!!!)

Worse stuff is the string, did a knot and it undid itself. In the end did a knot, apply a little bit of heat and that did the trick.
Oh and the end boom head section had that offset bits in it. Mine didn't line up with holes so took them off. Actually looks better without the offset boom.

I took the offset links out of my 4100 too. The line they use for the Crane isn't the best. A lot of them get restrung with musky master. A drop of super glue will fix your knot problem. I put a drop on each end of my pennant line too. Haven't had one pull though since.

A crochet hook is pretty handy when re-stringing a gantry. Bug ITW Security

Well, i cracked big time with this crane, i'm ready to burn the thing. I had a go redoing the hook block the other week, it just got tangled up, so pack it number 1. Decided to try and set it, again everything got tangled up so its back in its box. Never ever am i getting a lattice boom crane.
The worse stuff is the string, easy to tangle up, can't do knots. The super glue i used was to strong, was melting the string.

Too many angry neuropeptides at work Damien....walk away and come back to it in a couple of days with a different mind set and it will go together in a jiffy.

Damien, If super glue is to strong , try 5min Arildite epoxy. The 4100 isn't to difficult , just sit down and take your time, enjoy this great model and dont give up. Just do a litlle at a time. Get yourself set up in a comfortable position and take a chill pill. Or a Carlton Draught. Mick

Gotta find somewhere that has better string first. Then find out how to take it apart.
