Joe ALE's CC8800 is the only one in the UK at the moment, there are very few machines on our shores bigger, only Mammoets twin ring at Hartlepool and Sarens PC9600 (which is very rarely in the UK) are larger, these of course are not mobile though so at the moment it is the largest mobile land based crane in the UK. One of our LR1300's is at Radcliffe mate, the other is at Harwich, tracking down the quay side no more than 100 yards from me as we speak. Gaz

Why is "phonetically" spelt with a "ph"?
... It's better to be silent and thought a fool, then to speak up and remove all doubt
The complex of Newgrange was originally built between c. 3100 and 2900 BC,[2] meaning that it's aproximately 5,000 years old. According to Carbon-14 dates,[3] it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years.

Ah right, I see the boom every day on the way home from work and just wondered what it was! Theres also another crawler on there (well i assume its a crawler judging by the booms) Its red and working inbetween the chimneys there!
I also overtook a 10 registered 8 wheel scania on the M1 the other day too and that was a very very nice looking truck! It was following one of your LTM1200's northbound!

I can't believe your post Gaz!. Only yesterday one of the Port Services guys was telling me that he'd just been working on a CC8800 owned by ALE. I thought to myself "Does ALE own a CC8800??". Well here's my answer and it's safe to say that the guy was blown away by the sheer size of it!. Great pics and I look forward to more.

A former colleague of mine from Brambles/Econofreight days manages the ALE crane fleet, he has a facebook page with all of his heavy haulage and crane pics on, the CC8800 appeared on Saturday, he is up at Methil working with the crane at the moment and tells me that it will be there for a little while.
