As of the 1st of december last year some pretty drastic things happened in my life and it kind of got turned upside down....one thing that did pull me through the tough times was I was handed the keys to a brand new LTM1150 6.1 which I have been pulling around now for almost 6 months, alot of the time i've been in the London 2012 Olympic park but I have been getting around elsewhere every now and then. Here a only few pictures of my crane i've taken over the past months.

Had to strip the ballast of the crane to bring the weight down, so had a trailer for the day.

Largest container crane in the world, even with the fly would never reach the top, its a touch under 100m high!!!!

Next to our new TC2800

New Liccon 2 computer....its a little 'lit' up cos she's right on the button against my slew restrictor!

Not my machine, but i was driving it while mine was in for service.

Right in the thick of the action with our CC2800/1

Enough for now, i'll post some more soon enough.
Enjoy
Gaz

excellent snaps again Gaz Applause Applause

Why is "phonetically" spelt with a "ph"?

... It's better to be silent and thought a fool, then to speak up and remove all doubt

The complex of Newgrange was originally built between c. 3100 and 2900 BC,[2] meaning that it's aproximately 5,000 years old. According to Carbon-14 dates,[3] it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years.

Hi Gaz,
Glad to see you back.
I will be spending some time on the Olympic site at the Athletes Village, Plot N13 for GallifordTry installing cladding support steelwork, I am a Contracts Manager for a steel fabrication company, I can't believe the amount of paperwork/red tape etc, I think they will still be building when it opens!!!!!

Yup its the felixstowe container port, the cranes where shipped over fully built on a ship and moved over onto the dock with giant rails, hell of a system and takes some planning. I was there just to remove the transport wires used to stabilise the crane while it was at sea!

My crane is a 150t liebherr. the real is a hydraulic line that connects to the swing away fly jib (blue lattice on the side), if you look closely you'll see there is a cylinder on the top of it, this is a ajustable offset for the fly so must be connected through the lines you see wrapped around that drum.

Tim, I was over the athletes village the other week, on N25 for Bourne, building the concrete core for the multi-story car park.... i think i'm back there the end of next week for a few days, either my 150 or a 100 is going in so if you see me be sure to grab my attention (safely of course!!! Whistle )

the wings you are talking about are the Y-Guy as Liebherr calls them, each manufacturer calls them something different, (Terex is SSL and Grove are Gullwings if im not mistaken) anyways, those wings have a calbe that run up to a sheave at the top of the boom and then back to the wing, once the boom is up and under load they tension those and it pulls the deflection out of the boom giving the boom more strength and in some cases increases its radius

great pictures Gaz, you are a lucky man.... love the TC 2800 and the CC 2800, both are great looking cranes!

Thank you for the wonderful photos Gaz. You have a great machine to work with. The similar five axle LTM1140-5.1 is becoming increasingly popular here. A great machine to stay constantly busy on.
