Gotta love the NY. Donjon has a Liebherr 995 dredge usually in hibernation in Newark.

Your right Nova55, the 995 never leaves the yard in Newark. I have a live view of all the marine traffic and it is always docked. I haven't seen it leave this whole year... I am very anxiously waiting to see it working

Ah yes, Marine Traffic..gotta love AIS..
I seem to recall the JP did some dredging down in Rockaway/Jamaica about 6-8 months ago. Donjon seems to like there crane dredges. They just bought one of the steam cranes thats been floating around. Forgot the previous company that owned it.

Is'nt the New York owned by Great Lakes Dredge and Dock? My rusty memory says that the barge portion was built by Bay Shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay Wisconsin. Bay until about a year ago was part and the oldest part of the Manitowoc Marine Group which was part of The Manitowoc Company that makes those usually red things we like as well by the same name.

Many many clahmshells they have. I just seen there two 4600's docked at the port of newark. I usally see from pics online that the 995 is in the Elizabeth port and west of the bayonne bridge. Yes it was built in WI

Heres GL Dredge 51. GL's Melvin E. Lemmerhirt with one of there BIG dump scows. Donjons Altantic Salvor with one of there dump scows. If there using the dump scows, Donjon and GL tow it out to the dump site offshore and dump there. Or, If they are using the old garbage scows/hopper scows they will bring it over to one of the dredge material recyclers (one up in Clarmont and one in Newark). Paul

Nice video Vinny Does anyone happen to have a picture of the Dredge Chicago, before it sank? It was a P&H-5700 built for the Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company, it could be equipped with either a clam shell or a shovel front for dredging. Unfortunately it capsized and sank on October 5th, 1996 on its way to Denmark. -Josh

You got to love the irony of the Dredge New York. Latest technology - all hydraulics - has to lean back to earlier times and a cable winch. Perhaps they should have used cable to begin with instead of ending up with it!

I believe the reason for the cable is if something happens to the hydraulics they have a way to raise the boom out of the water to be able to bring the dredge to shore for repairs out of the shipping lanes!!!
Nice vessels all of them!!!

I'm a kid at heart, so I will play with any model construction vehicle from 1:87 scale to 1:1 scale!!!!
