Sorry I can't help ya there with those photos, but for the purpose of bumping your thread so someone who can help you will read it, here are some photos you and others may not have seen.

Also, feel free to post your photos, I'm always on the lookout for some of the monster.

Thanks for the pics Chris. I love this monster. I´m still hoping for a diecast-version of it.
But what´s wrong with the track on the second pic?

It just shows that perhaps Conrad did in fact have it right, stretchy looking tracks that buckle and bend all over the place giving the impression a link could be taken out to make it look nice/correct. I feel better now with my 996s

I think you'll find they had fitted them ,but had not tensioned them! That is all the conrad ones need! Some track tensioners!

The tension on the tracks is applied by hydraulic pressure. So when the machine is shut down, there is no pressure holding the tracks tight, and the idler can be pushed back to take the tension off the track. My guess is that they were either in the process of, or had just completed some track work and had not started up the machine to tighten the track yet.

Great pics!Applause

Would love to see anymore that anyone would be willing to share, including the inside of the cabin!

Definitely would want to have a 1/50th model of one if ever produced.

A little bird told me there was a 9800 excavator boom in Liebherr's yard at Redcliffe in WA. I just went for a quick drive up the road to have a look but it's pretty empty apart from some rusty cabs and a 995 shovel boom and excavator stick.

Has anyone else seen, or heard of it?

It may have been mistaken with a 9650 boom, but they said they definately saw the numbers 9800.

Could it be going to Burton's for some reason, maybe it's a for a new machine? Who knows? I'm intrigued.

Anyway, here's another pic I found...

James,

The inside of the cab is nigh on the same as inside a 9350.

Well by all accounts it was a 9800 and it's heading to an FMG mine in WA.

By Cape Preston you mean Christmas Creek. Cloud Break is a long way from Cape Preston! Teeth Cape Preston has two RH400's don't forget, but it would be pretty impressive to see one alongside a 9800. That’s what I call a Kodak moment!

I'm not sure if both Cloud Break and Christmas Creek have 340's but I know for sure at least one of the sites has one or two. EDi Downer has just taken delivery of two brand new PC4000-6's at Christmas Creek.

Nah mate I haven't. To my knowledge the only one in the world (in production) is the one at Burton's in QLD and to my knowledge the only other one (until this one showed up on the radar at Liebherr's branch) was the shovel at the factory in France.

But if you’re interested in big hydraulic shovel's there’s a good chance Rio will be buying one or two PC8000-6's in the near future along with some 5500 excavator's.

Yeah ive heard they are getting a PC8000-6 and a few more 930's for the autonomous projects. Speaking to the mine manager at Brockman 2, they have plans to get 3 or 4 hitachi EX8000's when they go below water table which would be awesome to see.
