Here is my newest LEGO model, a MOC (My Own Creation) of a Northwest 190D Pull-Shovel in 1:44-scale.
I was able to finish this one just in time for Brickworld 2010 in June, a giant LEGO convention in Chicago. I'm happy with how it turned out. Hand cranks operate the digging functions.

I have also built a dragline version of the 190D and am working on a 180D front shovel. I will bring all of them to the DHS Open House.

See the link for the full gallery.

Pardon the pun but, that's pretty snappy!!!!!!

I love the way you and Alvin transform Legos into such cool equipment!!!

I used to have a bunch of Legos including the truck with the grab unit on the back that was run by the air cylinders, I took off the grab and made a bucket for it and turned it into a truck excavator!!

Unfortunately ALL my Legos disappeared in a freak storm that claimed my storage unit in 2004, I had at least $2000 worth including a small crane, the grab truck and various other sets!!!

Keep up the building guys at least I know I'm not the only "kid" when it comes to Legos!!!!

Dain

I'm a kid at heart, so I will play with any model construction vehicle from 1:87 scale to 1:1 scale!!!!

Nice work!

Dump on the edges, the middle will take care of itself.

Great looking model....I would hate to have to build one in 1:16 or so using that orange! I bet that would be quite expensive....Whistle

Can't wait to see them at the open house...

Why is "phonetically" spelt with a "ph"?

... It's better to be silent and thought a fool, then to speak up and remove all doubt

The complex of Newgrange was originally built between c. 3100 and 2900 BC,[2] meaning that it's aproximately 5,000 years old. According to Carbon-14 dates,[3] it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years.

Very impressive, really captured the machines shapes and angles, even using the bulky lego edges. Congrats.

LEGO is a privately owned company. I met the owner 2 years ago at Brickworld; very nice guy. He took the time to walk through the ballrooms and look at the models people had built.

Thanks for the comments!
