Does any member have info, pics of this new model of mining excavator?
Rumour has it, that there may be a few prototype units on trial in Australia!
I think it is about 400 tonnes, with a bucket cap. of approx. 22cu m....
Any info would be appreciated.

This is a completely new model and is not the replacement for the R995.It fits in between the R9350 and R995. R9350:- 300-310 mt,{18 cu m} R9400:- 380-400 mt{22 cu m} These are approximate values/specs. R995:- 440-450 mt{26,5 cu m}

For the mining enthusiasts:- Xstrata's Liddell Coal Operations in the Hunter Valley,NSW,Australia has taken delivery of the first R9400 in backhoe configuration,sporting a 22cu m bucket.It will compete in the same size-class as the Bucyrus RH170B,Komatsu PC 4000-6 and Hitachi EX 3600-6 hydraulic mining excavators.Assembly was completed on the 28 May this year. Another two R9400's will be delivered to the mine by the end of this year. The first R996B backhoe also went into service at the same time as the R9400, with a second unit scheduled for delivery by the end of 2010.Standard bucket capacity has been increased from 34 to 36cu m for the updated 'B' version.
