Just wanted to share some photos of a project I finished up recently. It is a Caterpillar D6R LGP Iron Wolf Slasher. Here's a quick run down on the model: started with a D6T dozer and added the LGP tracks, and shaved down the rear fuel tank. Everything in front of the engine compartment has been scratch built from brass. The sweeps, and all of the hard lines have also been scratchbult from brass. The rear engine compartment was again scratch built from brass with simulated doors built from plastruct. The engine compartment has had brass mesh added through which you can see the engine which runs the cutting head.

Thanks for looking,
Greg

Very nice work. did you build for yourself or someone else. If you built it for for somebody they are going to have a unique piece for sure.

Amazing Job!

This might be a stupid question, but what exactly does the Iron Wolf attachment do?

that is very tastey indeed, superb job

Why is "phonetically" spelt with a "ph"?

... It's better to be silent and thought a fool, then to speak up and remove all doubt

The complex of Newgrange was originally built between c. 3100 and 2900 BC,[2] meaning that it's aproximately 5,000 years old. According to Carbon-14 dates,[3] it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years.

Excellent work as always Greg, very very impressive! I bet it would be a hard shot to take but are you able to get a shot of the rear mounted engine through the mesh? Thanks for posting. As I always like to ask, what else have you got sitting on your work bench?

Rowan.

"Clearing and mulching, standing trees, brush & stumps, creating a clear, stable soil base, site clearing & site preparation, stands up to rocks in soil, site excavation of frozen soil with little or no mixing of sub soil into top soil. ONE PASS UP. ONE PASS BACK. You’re done. Standing trees, brush and stumps easily succumb to the Slasher’s 10 foot wide mouth. The Slasher is an environmentally friendly animal that mulches as it works and incorporates the debris back into the soil to create a stable base. Say goodbye to burning and root raking. The IronWolf Slasher Series are attachments designed to mount on track-type tractors and enables superior mobility for a variety of construction, mining and forestry applications. The Slasher Series includes a cutter assembly with a ten (10) foot wide cutter drum and an auxiliary engine package. The cutter drum diameter is 40 inches enabling cutting depths up to 8 inches."

Fantastic! Your skills continue to improve noticeably. Keep going and eventually you'll be able to handcraft everything yourself. I'm guessing you have something special in the works for IMCATS?

Please use this before clicking "post"??? You may be surprised with what you see!
