Maybe the model has been in the works since the last conexpo? Looks like they had a good basis for a production model

It could have been.. It wouldn't take too much to modify that model into what TWH is known for. I know detail will be amazing, just worried about quality of product before purchasing. But this is for sure going to be one big awesome model.

I'm sure it will be amazing but I also want to know if they have fixed the drum problem? I mean I can fix it if they haven't but it's alot of work to fix it, I'm also curious about the down payment price as I have one reserved. I'm also wondering if you can pick one up at conexpo if you have one reserved, that's if they have some already produced.

Then how did you reserve one without any down payment? I can't afford one, but it's gonna be a huge model.

I called Dhs and asked them to reserve it, they still haven't told me how much the down payment will be or when they need it but there will only be 100 pieces available to collectors so if anyone wants one, you better reserve it quick!!

From what I understand, it is 100 to the collector's market and 400 to Manitowoc.

They would have to make 500, why make the molds for only 100 pieces? at $2000 a copy that would only be $20,000 and I bet that does not even cover the cost of the molds! Not only that I am willing to go out on a limb and guess that after the initial release, in true TWH fashion other liveries will be produced!! Anybody want to bet on that?

If Manitowoc wants specials to be made, TWH will most certainly produce them.

Mammoet will probably own at least one at some point, and lots of othe heavy lift companies may too. You could most likely buy the model from a Mani dealer, too.

I had a little chuckle too Bob when I received one of the few last Bucyrus 495HR's only to see a bunch more released a while later, I'd love to have the money for this model,so I could secure one right away,maybe this could open the flood gates for the LR13000 and CC8800 TWIN,now there's a sweet trio

when you have companies like this commissioning models I don't think money factors in,they more use it as promotion I think,I'd be guessing,as the profit margin wouldn't be worth talking about,look at the money Manitowoc make from crane sales,parts sales and so on,v's money made from the model sales, this is half a case of the origins of models and they reason they are here shining through,I believe they began as promotional gifts,given to customers or people invited to machine launches and so on, I can't wait

TWH and Manitowoc are 2 seperate companies.... i dont think TWH would be in the business of model making if they werent trying to turn a profit.... and if you think they are going to give away 400 model 31000s as promotional gifts to people that buy this crane, they are going to be sitting on the shelves collecting dust for quite a long time
