Thanks to Deano, 'deanoadams5' for sending through these shots of an original CAT D10. I'll let him fill in the details but I'm curious which year these were taken? Appears to be at the Australian 'Hastings Deering' dealership. She looks like she's a pretty fresh unit. What a beast!!

Thanks for posting these photo's Rowan. These photo's were taken either 1979 or 1980. I was with my dad when he picked up a Cat D6 from Hastings Deering Brisbane QLD. The D10 was brand new. Deano

Solid gold right there, wow i know of 2 other plant nuts that have had the same experience with a D10 in Sydney at the local dealership in 1978. That look just craps all over todays red stripe bling machines with all there widgets and gadgets, pure simplicity and functionality.

Thanks for the great pics, can you drop me a PM to forward them through if you don,t mind

Gavin84W, In regard to "dropping you a PM to forward them through" I'm not sure how to do that. If I had your email address I could do what you need.
GC1, Yes that is Hastings at Archerfield pre plane crash. That plane I think crashed into Theiss's workshop close by. If you have google earth type in Hastings Deering Kerry Rd Archerfield you will notice that Hastings is located in a couple of airplane hangers. Deano
