It will take a while, at least a few months so on top of that initial figure you'll have the down time on the crane, its just not possible to put the machine down at the moment, it is flat out and is rarely standing. Gaz so will this put the condition of the crane back to the same way it was when it first rolled out the factory? i mean i know that when you have work done to your car it always seems like more stuff goes wrong after that and it never feels the same from then on out

Probably not that good mate but it will increase its life by a good few years, its a good working crane at the moment but there will come a point where the machine becomes to unreliable! these cranes are so popular it can't believe there is nothing to replace it with new. Ainscough swear by this crane and it is one of the reasons it is not going, 15 years old and still punching higher than most modern machines! I can't wait till its gets done...who knows i might be driving it soon Gaz

Your not wrong mate, it does need modernising a little, but the principles behind it should have stayed, this crane will walk all over a LTM11200 on 95% of duties.....the 100m tele of the 112 and AC1000 makes the crane booms so heavy, it really is not hard to drop 30 or 40m of lattice work on the cathead to make a 60 or 70m boom just at long and give better duties to boot. If you can find duty charts for the 112 and this compare the luffer duties, 15 years old and still unbeatable. Gaz

Gaz yeah i mean im sure Liebherr gave the LTM 1800 the axe due to the 11200 coming out but everyone knows that lattice boom is lighter and out lifts squirt boom all day long, im surprised that more cranes dont have this sort of option to change between the two types of boom. idk.... while i think the LTM is honestly a funny looking crane in general, its a workhorse and its a shame they did away with it.... 20 or 30 years from now there wont be any left

Cosmosman wrote:Is this crane different to the Millennium Lifter ? Slighly yes, the Millennium lifter had both lattice and tele booms.....this only has the tele, Ainscough do not have the LG boom for this crane, we do however have a LG1550. No the booms are not inter-changeable i've already asked that question. there is 14 years between them, a lot of changes happened to the design in that time. Gaz

Got pictures of the Millenium Lifter doing its first offical lift in Ainscough yard years ago. It lifted a coach to the Thunderbirds theme tune.
