Looks like a big project... Is that some kind of housing development or something?

Looks like a lot of mountains for Ohio, you sure that's not the northern section of US RT 35 outside Point Pleasant, WV they are currently building. That is one of 2ea Komatsu PC2000's they bought new for the south section of US RT 35 in WV, just outside of the Hurricane/Winfield area a couple years ago. The Cat 777F's were purchased new at the same time, as well as the Cat D9T. One PC2000 left WV after it finished and one was moved to the north end I was told. I had alot of pics when the equipment was being assembled new, but they were on my old phone and I don't know where it is. If I remember correctly, a fleet of 3 new Cat "G" series scrapers were purchased too for the south section, but can't remember the model numbers. Don't see many new scrapers in WV. I ran into the Project Manager, Mr. Ken Lake, for both Kokosing WV US RT 35 projects 2 weeks ago at an Operating Engineers Union Official's retirement party in Charleston and also got to speak with the Governor of WV, who was also attending the retirement party. Just my 2 cents. Great pics by the way, wherever they were taken.

Awesome pictures - thank you very much for sharing. Please share some more!
This project is nearly 4.5 million yards and is valued at $45 million. This is phase 3 of the Nelsonville bypass, Kokosing also had phase 1 which was 3.5 million yards. They came up short on phase 2 which is nearly 7 million yards. My understanding is that Kokosing now owns (3) of the PC 2000's and several 100 ton trucks, between Cat and Komatsu. They have been tackling major earthwork in WV since 2007. There is currently a 13 or 14 mile final section of US 35 bidding in Mason & Putnam Counties in WV that is on a design/build that bids October 26th. It wouldn't surprise me to see them get this - the yardage on that job is going be very high.
xkv8or, I believe the scrapers you were talking about were the 631G's that they purchased for the major SR 161 project they got back in April of 2007 in Licking County. That project was over 2 million yards.

Love to visit an old topic like this, I made the trip to Nelsonville and caught all the action on the Kokosing side and Beavers work. Some pretty cool stuff went on to get that road in place. Video Video of projectODOT videoSome stats from OHDOT on the project including costs. PROJECT INFO The $160 million U.S. Route 33 Nelsonville Bypass is a three-phase, 8.5 mile new construction of four lane highway through Athens and Hocking County. A large portion of the bypass bisects Wayne National Forest, Ohio’s only National Forest. The new alignment consists of two major interchanges into the historic town of Nelsonville. Phase II, the western portion of the bypass, has been open since October 2012. Phase I and III will open October 1, 2013. PHASE I and II Contractor: Kokosing Construction Co., Westerville, Ohio Investment: Phase I $23 Million – Phase II $45.2 Million Start Date: Phase I October 2007 – Phase II October 13, 2009 End Date: Phase I July 2009 – Phase II October 2012 Summary: Phase I and II includes 5.0 miles of new 4 lane highway. Phase I and II also included the construction of the west side interchange. Total contract for both phases $67.37 million. Phase I began October 2007 and Phase II on Oct. 13, 2009. While Phase I was under construction District 10 was finalizing phase II and III. PHASE III Contractor: Beaver Excavating, Canton, Ohio Investment: $92.2 Million Start Date: October 13, 2009 End Date: October 2013 Summary: Phase III begins on the east side of Nelsonville and includes construction of 3.87 miles of four-lane highway. Also included in Phase III is the construction of the U.S. 33/SR 78 /SR 691 interchange. The project will reroute SR 78 1.63 miles through the Happy Hollow District 10's Facebook Page Facebook Page Check out the photos for some pretty good shots. This was a really cool project to see and my first PC2000. Enjoy

Kokosing do not have the distinctive orange paint like the nzg 325CL any more
Remember when it comes to equipment the older and more obscure the better
