i got it all up, just havent reeved the main block yet, saving that puppy for last! spent about 6-7 hrs putting her together. some parts are a real pain, some screws are just in a tight spot and hard to get to, plus they dont give you a long enough screwdriver. that rigging on the counterweight tray is a a pain too, one side is tight while the other is loose, didnt have too much of a problem with the lines jumping, just too much friction for the sheaves to spin smoothly. spent at least 45 minutes getting the base plates in the right spot and leveling the ring! i will have to fix the jib tip, the sheaves for the main block are all jammed and are hard to spin. there were a few sheaves throughout that are kind of jammed and wont spin smoothly. i dont know if anybody else had this problem, but for some reason, when i went to connect the main boom, the top 3 sections wouldnt line up with the bottom sections, the angles werent right, i had to take 2 screws out of the section where it starts the angle, so i could pull the boom in to line it up. one side was fine but the other wasnt. im thinking this has to do with the old version, as the DS version has 2 sections more than the old version (tapered/reducer sections) i will get photos up soon, just wanted to post a teaser for now til i got er all done

after spending about 2 hrs trying to reeve the main block, i finally got it, i didnt fully reeve it. one of the sheaves in the jib tip, like half of it is cut off, so the line just slides right off, so i skipped over it, and did the same to the hook, to keep it equal, and went, every other sheave. once i finally got it raised, the shear size of this monster, overwhelmed me! I just cant really describe it, the photos dont do it justice, this is a model you just have to see in person to really get a feel for it! not really sure what my time was spent on this thing, but it was atleast around 6-7 hours on it. im sure bob had a quicker time, but he also has the regular ptc, not the ds, the ds version comes with 2 more main boom sections for each side and are not attached, so connecting those took an hr or so, and while doing this, i sliced my finger  the sections are a very tight fit, and i was trying to line them up, but slipped and oops! sliced it across the connection point, didnt think it would be that sharp. but all in all, one AWESOME model! money well spent, now for the extension kit here you go guys, enjoy! doubt any outside shots will be taken, cant move this monster in and out of the house as easily as the rest. PS: i dont know if its because its the DS version or not, but it didnt come with the dvd, does this version not come with it?  what a mess!

thanks guys! jasons right, its the lr1280, its all repainted, just needs new decals. Jack- haha, i was going to make an assembly stop motion of it, but after studying it for a while, the ring is one solid casting, not able to de rig, and the deck looks extremely complicated, i dont want to tear it up, taking railings off and such. i might make one, but half of the model will have already been built up. but i will try and make some lift videos with it. Woc- lol, i knew you were going to say that
