Wow Peter, you and Mr Keim just don't slow down! I'd suggest that particular model is going to be worth A LOT of pennies in a few years time. Bucyrus owned the RH170B for how long, a couple of months? Thanks as always for sharing. Rowan. 1:25th scale CAT 375L excavator

Very Nice Piece ...
The Buccy Colour scheme is actually real nice when Viewed in person.
I think the colour scheme might alter slightly but dont think you will see a yellow O&K anytime soon.

Amazing, the interest in this rare model is quite staggering,, I'm thinking I might take a few shots of my favourite Norscot model a CAT Forklift or similar,, just hope it dosen't cause the Forum Web Page to crash with the enthusiasm of many responses,, I was going to add some of my R995 Excavator photos, but then, I'm sure my Norscot favourites will do the trick Regards from down under Peter

I understand the frustration Peter, you go to the effort to take these photos of this amazing model and you only get a few replies. That said though, I think we can safely say that the almost 800 views were all by people who appreciated it. I tend to think that a lot of people choose not to reply rather than writing... "nice model, thanks.'' Keep the posts coming mate, I know there are a lot of people who look froward to them. Rowan. 1:25th scale CAT 375L excavator

Not being a Norscot/Caterpillar model has ZERO TO DO WITH IT. Don't you know what the problem with your thread is? It has nothing to do with cranes! Now, if it was solely about the service crane on the deck: 1,000,000,001 views with 768,243 replies. Anyhow, I for one really like the new/soon to be old colors! I have seen the shovels both with the boom to bucket painted like the model above and also in a white/creme and gray combo. I prefer the colors like on the model but without the maroon on the bucket, just gray. But I did come across photos of a 1:1 RH170 excavator today and the boom and stick were the white/creme color with a large "Bucyrus" running the length of the stick. It looks very sharp! - Chris

Great model. I actually like the Bucyrus design, expecially when looking at it from the right side. Did Bucyrus also have that red big stripe on it? This type of red seems to be a bit like the one O&K used (which I like a lot).

Peter-don't be too despondent--I never get tired of seeing mining models and always look forward to your pics/posts!! Did you find out about that missing rail? Please can you post pics of the R995 backhoe if you can? I am dying to see it.... My 340B's are on their way as we speak so i will post some pics when they arrive. ConstructionSite- Please share some of the pics of the Bucyrus shovels and backhoes you were talking about.I am keen to know how many RH series machines and which models,in Bucyrus livery, are currently in service around the globe.Who purchased the RH40E and RH120E on display at Bauma? Thanks in advance gents Regards Brian C

This just reminds me of how bad I would like to get the 340B backhoe while I still can... That's an amazing model. Thanks for sharing.

Another gorgeous model Peter! The BI colours never grew on me, but it sure must be nice to have what will surely be a rare scheme in the future.
What's next in the pipeline from Peter to you? I know what I would like to get him to build for me, but I'm not sure he will do it.

Hi Peter, I wish I had your collection! I really like the model, I like the colour scheme, you have to look for the details a bit closeer but at least its not run of the mill, keep posting, there are lots of people who are interested on this site, we just don't shout about it.
regards Kevin.

Howdy everyone, I suppose I was being a little premature & over sensitive with my last reply, but I do like to see a little activity on the Posts.. Tarantula, I have the 340 Shovel & Excavator ordered, so will add photos of them with the 170B together with my Bucyrus MT4400 when they arrive,, it will be quite the family snapshot.. That is quite a thought you put in my mind Greasemonkey, "what would that model be?" and ConstructionSite........ out of curiosity,, "how much would the little crane lift?"

Hey, that's nothing... I spent a whole day adding a page with dozens of classic photos to a site the other day... posted it to a list of 800 people, and not a single person commented. Now that's pathetic.
If that scheme doesn't last long, I would think it will make it that much more valuable. But it looks cool to me.

You have a great collection Peter and I love seeing your posts, your O& K collection is amazing, I also agree with Constructin site about bloody cranes, this site has changed in the last few years alot of the guys with large collections and experiance on heavy equipment don't post anymore ,occasioaly you will one of these peoples names in the viewing list but they don't post , though we do get lots of people asking which $20 model should I get......who cares! But I suppose someone has to start somewere. I have about 300+ models but the only ones I realy care about are the CCM's and the big mining models and the customs the rest are just mass produced models Norscot, NZG, etc, if there was a fire at my place I don't worry about those ones as they will all be replaced anyway on insurance.
