Great stuff guys! It's been posted a few times now but this dozer is still amazing!
Don Mearns CAT D11R (1300hp)

His machine has been posted about a few times in the past but I'm sure that there are many people who haven't seen it. The engine was swapped out for a 1300hp 3500 series Cat V12, the radiator and oil coolers therefore had to be relocated. The entire chassis was modified, extended and widened to allow for the modifications. The plough and dozer is used for land clearing and was built and owned by an Aussie farmer named Don Mearns. Amazing machine!

From 1973 the V-con dozer was marketed by the vehicle constructors division of Marion Power Shovel Company. This model V220 featured diesel-electric drive and was equipped with a Detroit Diesel 16V-149T engine with 1,500HP. Basically a diesel locomotive on wheels. This dozer managed to tour many mines in the mid-west in the 70's as a demonstrator.

Anytime, I remember being a little kid here in the state's. I saw this on the news one time,I must have been 6,but it stayed with me my whole life.Never forgot the size of this beast.
Must have not been to good on fuel. I remember the fuel shortage in the 70's too.Guess that's one reason it never really caught on.

Its amazing how individual contractors/companies convert a standard machine to suit their job specifications, similar I guess to the Tigeer, where you get
a company like Cat making it a standard lineup of models. I guess Cat, Komatsu, Liebherr or LeTourneau take over various concepts as well, which end up as
a standard specification model.

Great pictures so far,, I hope there are more to come
