A while back I was trying to explain the method of pinning the boom in Liebherr cranes, this week we stripped the boom out of a LTM1055 because the tele ram was leaking and needed new seals, I've taken a few pictures, along with a few of liebherrs website that I think now will explain it very well.

This is tele section 1, the 1st pin will fix into the base section, the second is tele section 2's pin, this as you can see is fixing it to tele section 1

1055 has 4 tele sections, you can see each section and the bars hanging down are how the pins are pulled.

The tele ram runs the length of the boom. you can see the rails along side the ram and where it fits in the previous picture.

This is a screen shot from my crane, your looking at a side on picture of the boom, you can see where the pins go in and where each tele section is.

Lastly this is of Liebherrs website, it shows the mechanism quite clearly.

That is the end of todays lesson, tomorrow we bake COOKIES Smile
