I have only seen pictures of a 4600 backhoe on a barge. Quite impressive!
Does the 4600 backhoe also exist on crawlers?

Shoot, I'd love just to see the picture of one.

No, the 4500 series came out in 1947. Machine #33 is still working at coal mine in Pennsylvania. #33 was built in 1948. There's a also a 1947 4500 still at work in Pennsylvania but I don't have the seriel on it.

Justin,
Split Vein Coal Co on Rt.61 north of Shamokin had a 4500 dragline working there. You were able to see it from the highway. Don't know the specifics on it though..

Hey Dave. Off the top of my head I can think of about 5 4500's that are still active. The one I recently filmed is the oldest one left working around here. This 4500 origionally worked on the St. Lawrence Seaway:

The link directs to the 6000W crane.

Thanks for posting that brochure!

Thank you for the link. Should help immensely, but now my thoughts have turned to the Manitowoc 6000W. No models of this one, I'd like to build both.

You will be busy!
Between the 3500 and the 6000W are a lot of very interesting cranes!

Good luck and keep us posted,

Kerst

I like that 3600 brochure. I have a builders plate from machine #36055 that was scrapped in 1994. It worked with my 9W along with a B-E 40R Blasthole drill and another big electric Marion shovel but can't remember what model.
