Hi Guys Gaz mentioned Sarens Gottwald AK680 in my Krupp GMT 500 topic.I took thesre photos of her in Nottingham in 1981 just before I left to live in Australia. The crane was about 18months old I believe. Sorry some of the photos are not top quality as they were scanned from 30 year old negatives. ![](http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l487/markr55/Scotts/2-16.jpg) I will post some more later Mark

Hey Woc, We are going to get an AMK 1000 , great! the only problem will be the "affordable" bit. But save the penny's, and by the time it arrives, we will be in business. Cheers Mick

Man the old Gottwalds really are beautyful machines! And even today, as Gaz would normaly say, could give any modern machine a lesson in lifting! Great photos pal, the quality is perfect!

The AMK1000 will keep me happy this year, then the krupp GMT500 and AMK500 in the years after that The big Gottwalds are my Favorite cranes, I worked along side the AK680 at Fawley Oil refinery a few years ago and I spend most the day just looking at it ![Smile](/images/emoticons/msp_smile.gif) . Thanks for posting these pictures, they are 1st class and i'll ask your kind permission for me to save them into my own personal photo collection with all credits going to yourself. Gaz

Super photos and it's great to see these big beasts from the past. I like how many of these big old cranes were "over-engineered", or in other words built like a brick!. I also love the last picture with the people standing in it because of how close they all are to the crane!. They say a picture speaks a thousand words and I think this one does too. Can you imagine being able to wander around and get that close nowadays?. And I love the "health and safety" fencing and sign ha, ha!. Sadly, I guess it shows what we've lost in a few decades

These are the only other Scotts photos I have. Taken at their yard in Alfreton. Sorry about the quality as it was not a very nice day. The first 2 photos are of the AMK 126 and the third 1 is of the AMK 155
