I caught this H-series blower run by the New York State DOT after 2 feet of snow feel last week. The Detroits on this beast were unreal!! I need to get the Sword model now!

I did not realize that they offered Detroits in these. The blower engines were standard as Cat C-18s while the carrier uses either a Cat (C11 or C12) for the highway or a like sized Cummins in the airport version. This is what is still listed on their web site. Oshkosh was a big Cat customer. The 2010 emissions rules may have changed this. I know that Pierce, owned by Oshkosh, supposedly has a fire service exclusive on the new Detroi/Mercedes engines.

It is always amazing to see these H series blowers when stranded at a major airport during snow which has happened serveral times too often this year.
