Breaking it down and im assuming its headed somewhere if there is a demand for it. Then again, it may sit for a while. It spent the past few months at a local chemical/semi conductor production company. The plant is surrounded by trees, or large parking areas, so no pictures of it in action.

Hemlock? I hate that place.

Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about.

nice pictures, sure are a lot of pieces just sitting there. Its amazing how many trailers it takes, gotta practically have stock in a trailer company just to transport one of these things

The thing that surprised me was the lack or major trailers. The only thing that looks to be a major deal to move is sitting on the 2x2x2. Everything else is on a 2-4 axle trailer

The trailers configuration depends on the state. In Ohio we have to use the 9 axle to transport the slew bearing (which is what is loaded on the 9 axle in the picture) as well as both house sections and the wagon. We weighed the house sections when we hauled them in from Indiana and I think you can scale them on a 7 axle day cab but the would have to be loaded perfectly. But on the sleds that Cleveland runs they can't scale them so we always used the 9 axle. In other states the trailers you see all have 4th axles we would pin on to scale them. The house sections go on 4 axle step decks, the wagon and slew bearing go on 4 axle 9 foot wide Aspen detaches. Interestingly that's a 2250 maxer wagon in the picture. What Is this still in the power plant in above Holland Michigan I thought it was moved over the winter.

No, this is on the east side of the state. Hemlock Mi. Just west of Saginaw. It showed up some time around Dec/January, just before frost laws went on. Looks like its all ready to head on out, and some may have been hauled out already.

I do know there is a 2250 on site, but it is owned by a local demo company that does most of the lifting work for Dow and Hemlock Semi Conductor in this area. So im sure that maxer is not for that 2250, unless it was rented for a portion or the job recently.

yeah, most of the pieces i believe on Manitowoc site show it can be transported on 2 or 3 axle trailer, i know thats just how they draw it up but i imagine that the house would only be the part that needed a major trailer.

and it is weird that they were using a 2250 MAX-ER

looks to me like they have a mast top for a 2250 there too ... (angle boom) ... maybe parts for a 21 and a 2250 ?

The slew bearing is the heaviest part followed by the wagon and front house section. I would have to look into the axle laws, but in most states you would need a 4 axle trailer and and a tri axle tractor to scale them. They weren't using a 2250 wagon on the 21000 I sure it just ended up in the same spot for storage. I see the 2250 mast top and there is also the luffer struts and a heel section.

Funny you say that, I went past a site today that had 2-3 Manitowoc's there and seems if they were going to break one down soon. I went by on Saturday and no trailers but went by today and there had to be a dozen or so of then between drop decks and tandems. It was a bridge reconstruction in Erie PA on the I-90.

johndeere4020, don't you haul for ALL? Does very crane basically have its own set of trailers? Or damn near close to it?
