All good things must come to an end.

I have run out of exhausted all of my walking dragline material.

Here are the links to the previous posts.
Part 7 - a brochure for newer Bucyrus Erie draglines
Part 6 - Marion 8700, 7900, 7800, 7400, and 7200
Part 5 - Bucyrus Erie 1370W Dragline Brochure
Part 4 - brochure and data sheets for the Bucyrus-Erie 480W
Part 3 - data sheets from the Marion 8000 series
Part 2 - brochure for the Marion 8000 series
Part 1 - a brochure from Page that covers models: 736, 752, and 762

These last three photos show the cycle of life of a machine, being scrapped, as sad as it is to watch. So that it can become the next generation machine.

I hope that you have enjoyed this, I have.

It's strange that they scrapped the house and the boom is still up. Excellent series of posts. TFS

Paul,

It might be because the dragline, wasn't around a power source to boom down. They most likely used explosives to get the boom down.

That is how they lowered the boom on Big Muskie, some strategic placed explosives, that were used to cut the cables.
