Forgive the corny 80's music. Interesting dozer concept. Wonder why it never caught on ? I think Lampson owns one of these now. Can someone confirm this ?

Enjoy the dozer and corny music...

thats a tasty video and a unique machine!! the music sells it for me Teeth Teeth

Roller chain drive???? on something that big working under those stress levels?? would probably be much better had hydrostatic drive been available then,

Why is "phonetically" spelt with a "ph"?

The complex of Newgrange was originally built between c. 3100 and 2900 BC,[2] meaning that it's aproximately 5,000 years old. According to Carbon-14 dates,[3] it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years.

Interesting... Looks like a tugboat one wheels. I assume there's a reason why they haven't caught on.

I think it looks cool, love these old vids. Everything seems so simple when they talk on how good their machine is.

Gentlemen,

It is indeed a very interesting machine, you can even have one in 1:50 scale:

I believe some heavy haul companies use Melroe units like this.

Did anyone watch the video of the six wheel skid loader with the ejector bucket? That was interesting also. Apparently from the same guy that had the idea for the Bobcat A300?

Rowan,

Thank you for posting these. Last I knew Lampson still owned them, if that has changed...dunno. If I owned a heavy haul company and wanted something that would move a heavy load. These along with the Hendrickson tractor would be my haulers of choice. Come to think of it,throw in Lampsons low profile tractor seen in your second photo too.

Excellent photos Rowan,thanks again.

The two Lampson units, I believe, are Hendrickson and not Melroe. They were built as the pusher units for the two famed Hendrickson tractors that they own. There is a write up of these when they were built new and in yellow or green somewhere out there.

I don't think that's correct. I do believe they are in fact Melroe built machines.
