I really like what you did to the tractor. I kind of had the same thing in mind for some of my first gear stuff. Tri axle tractors aren't terribly common in my little area, and just a basic tractor is what I see the most. The wheels are a nice touch.

Go to a Walmart, if they have a craft area check the material section for the canvas "duck" material.
It is not a heavy material and probably all you'd need is a yard of it. They usually have it in black or brown, not too sure if they have any other colors like green BUT you can always dye it!!!!
I think that comes as close to scale tarps as you can find.
