going to start a topic and post all my equipment finds here instead of all over the place, like my collection thread. here you guys go, how about this to start it off withTeeth

well guys, i took my vacation time and went to go see the 31000s before they get done testing and ship out. it is an 8 hr drive for me, but well worth it, even though they werent raised upSad . i got to meet ben and his girlfriend while i was there and saw his nice collection and huge Manitowoc literature collection! i also went down to the store and got a couple things too, ill post those shortly, i havent taken pics of them yet. but here are some of the better photos (my favorites) i got, click on the link if you want to see all 234 of em d'oh! Teeth ! i know i probably got alot of double photos but i took as many as i could of these things as i might not ever see them again, at least together, probably covered every inch of these monstersCool . i had a great time and hope to do it again sometime.

31000 pics

as soon as i got off the highway exit, i headed straight over to the factory and caught this girl laying down! wish i would have gotten there a little more earlier

they had the VPC extended all the way out when i got there, but i had to leave and go check into the hotel real quick, and came back, and they done pulled it all the way in, its like they know i was there and waited til i left

notice the MLC100 on the left! its tiny

somethings wrong with the VPC, thats why it didnt raise up

my favorite, would be more dramatic if they were up though, this was taken with my phone, camera batteries died

Nice! Got a good variety of good shots, even one with the engine room's door open, is it me or does that door look quite thick?

Stunning pictures, stunning machine. Can't wait for my model to arrive, going to look great with the PTC and SGC120. It will be my 1st model this year (been saving my pennies!) so that will make it so much sweeter when it arrives.

thanx for sharing such great shots.

thanks guys, it was a great trip!

Paul-you have no idea how excited i am about the model, words just cant explain it Teeth Drool Drool
i know TWH needs to get on with it, getting very impatient Anxious Anxious , this game of them delaying it every month is for the birdsNot talking Shame on you

ben- kinda glad they are still down, at least i know they didnt just wait until i left to raise them back up, they wouldnt do that to me

the pictures just dont do the crane justice, this thing is just a monster when you just sit back in your truck and just look at it, from outside the fenceCool
they are definately a hell of a sight to see

On almost all of the 31000 images I've seen, they have had ANSI on the small lighting board in front of the cab. Can anyone explain to me what's the purpose of that light board and what ANSI is or means?

ANSI is an acronym for the American National Standards Institute but Im uncertain as to why it is displayed on the number board of the 31000.

The 31000 is likely going through its ANSI certification testing, which can take months upon months.

a friend of mine works at walmart, and he just got off work and txtd me saying there are a few crane parts parked behind sams/walmart. so, since its only 5 minutes from my house, i drove over and heres what was waiting. they belong to W.O. Grubb, but i dont know what crane. im thinking a lr1400, a set of steps, 1 undercarriage weight, 2 jacks (which is throwing me off) and the boom head. it cant be a 1300 or smaller cause the boom top doesnt come apart like this does, right?

It looks like a LR-1400 to me.

The jacks are used when raising long booms, as you can see in the pictures below.

WinkAni thats what im thinking also

but after looking on the liebherr site, it could also be a lr1350Think
and after looking on grubb site, they have both, a 1400 and 1350, so either one

I think I saw some of these parts on the Baltimore Beltway this past week. Saw a load of counterweights, load of boom sections, and a load of the jib mast base (not sure what its called).

i spotted this gem yesterday while i was working, i had forgot all about it when i got off, until i went driving around down by the river checking out stuff, had Thunder over Louisville on my mind, has been for 2 weeks! but i got a couple pics last night, and thought it was done, and wouldnt get to take pics in the daylight. but today, i looked over from the highway and saw it up, so went over and hung out for a few, shh, dont tell the bossWhistle Shhh they were lifting roof materials up onto the jail/courthouse/police station. it is a very sharp looking rig! COME ON TWH! THIS CRANE NEEDS TO BE MADE INTO A MODEL!!!

taken with my phone, sorry about the quality
BTW this rig is brand new, about a month old or so
