Better late than never, I suppose. Wink Here are the photos I took during the DHS Diecast open house. Previous topics on the Open house:

Open House - 2011

The open house was a lot of fun, and even though I took many photos, I still missed a few things. Looking back, I wish I would have taken more photos of many of the custom models. Also I missed getting a picture of the BYMO Komatsu PC8000 Shovel! Confused

Dave Dauksha's first place diorama:

(I wish Chuck would get some lighting installed that wasn't so yellow in hue Wink )

The welders had blue flickering LED's to simulate the welding that I was unable to capture in a photo.

Very nice photos. I'm amazed how the water was done Dave Dauksha's diorama.
That Otis shovel is nice but,Think In my opinion; Too bad for all the money it cost it has ordinary out of scale Cad plated phillips head screws. I didn't know they were invented when that shovel was. If I owned one I would have to install square head bolts and rivets were needed throughout the model.

Yes thanks indeed, some super dioramas there and from personal experience I know something of how much and long it takes to set up a diorama for a show.

Thanx for posting the pics Alex. Steve the water was made from clear casting resin poured over some river stone, and the creek bed was painted with earth tone colors. Found some real neat ideas from model railroad videos found on You Tube.

A fantastic series of photos for those of us who were unable to attend. Thanks for the short explanations too, some very talented board members getting a few awards which is nice.
