Ainscough LG1550 today collapsed in Invergordon Oil Support Base this afternoon.
The site has been cordoned off by police but gladly no one was injured.

It's a bad week for Crain operators. Glad no one was hurt.

I for one wouldn't say it collapsed, it just fell over, too many variants could be involved to lay any blame, but someone will have got their arse kicked,I'm sure of that,Gaz will surely let us know what happened, legalities could be involved,so maybe not.

Bet Gaz is glad it wasn't him!!!!

Glad no one got hurt and hopefully Gaz will give us all the straight poop on what happened!!

He might even be busier now because I'm sure the operator of the wrecked crane is in some deep stuff. Or more commonly called, "Up the spit creek without a paddle"!!!

I'm a kid at heart, so I will play with any model construction vehicle from 1:87 scale to 1:1 scale!!!!

Age is a state of time NOT a state of mind!!

As you can imagine this is the worst thing that can happen to a crane company short of someone losing there life.... fortunately not the case here, all that has happened is a lot of bent metal and some dented pride. I'm gutted to see this, the 2 guys on this crane are some off our more experienced and i'm sure what exactly happened will come to light soon enough.

The investigation into the cause of this is still on going, I'm absolutely devastated the machine is in the state it is but the good new is it is not as bad as it looks with only the boom really written off, which we have already set in motion replacing it. This pictures are in general circulation and show a few pictures of the recover and the big girl looking very sorry for herself stripped down and needing a helping hand to get to Liebherrs.

1st estimates or the machine will be working again by christmas, as you can imagine every weld will be x-rayed, every inch of the machine inspected and tested and not until Liebherr are happy it is safe will we get it back.

This is not the end of Ainscough's LG1550, be back before you know it Teeth

I read somewhere that she tipped whilst being moved,is this true?

Why is "phonetically" spelt with a "ph"?

... It's better to be silent and thought a fool, then to speak up and remove all doubt

The complex of Newgrange was originally built between c. 3100 and 2900 BC,[2] meaning that it's aproximately 5,000 years old. According to Carbon-14 dates,[3] it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years.

It's a shame that this happened, good to hear that the 1550 will be repaired. That poor AC100(?) Demag looks awful!
