Dunno bout over west but back east you'd get locked up for putting 90t of excavator onto a 4x8 and 2x8 dolly, definately a neat machine though.

Thanks Rowan and Brian! Very nice looking machine. All Piacentini needs to add later is a hydraulic personal basket or retractable stair and we'll have it covered... But that feller, gorgeous! - Chris

Thanks to Rowan and Brian for sharing these. Basketball Man wrote:Shame on the person who falls of the carbody of that 390D. It does not look possible Nice pictures! I don't know how anybody could fall off the carbody, the carbody's underneath the machine. I do find it kind of ironic that the most likely place for someone to fall is left wide open and unguarded. The area right in front of the cab door.

Sweet looking machine and good thinking on removing thsoe two teeth!
We have a spade nose bucket on one of our 385's. On the bottom side of the boom is a HUGE dent and some scratches from when we first got the machine. Western States Cat's hot-dog mechanic that put it together had the stick crowded in and slamed a tooth into the boom when he curled the bucket in. They offered to weld a plate on the boom to protect it from happening again. For some reason it never got done..that was in 2003.

I have seen 90 ton on a 4 x 8 & 2 x 8 in NSW a 1000 times so not sure what the issue is and if any one knows who,s former NSW based KW that is, well it has done those 1000 loads i have seen too

Gavin I was under the impression that the quad and dolly were a 75t payload unit 100t gross on highway use, and if I'm not mistaken the bullbat on the old clarkies 904 is an add on buy the new buyers of the rig

A D11 with the blade, cab & ROPS off but the ripper on i have seen many times on TJ Clarks and others floats and they go 85-90 ton right there. I think the thing is now platforms & 5 x 8s are so much more popular and have moved weighted loads up the scale a bit and the 4 x 8 does not see as many bigger loads due to the popularity of those others. It,s sorta like the trucks and there HP, Mack Superliners used to have a 3408 with 450HP and were the biggest thing going for float work back in the day, now a general line freight truck pulling 40 ft boxes has 500HP
There is a guy around with a maroon KW who used to move our D11 on a 3 x 8 Brentwood right into the CBD of Sydney fully dressed!!

Gavin,
This information was given to me By MTE Transport, For Victoria. There was a Note on the Doc that Said WA have Greater Limits
Prime Mover...........Dolly...............Float.............Total Steer....Tandem......2R8 @ 4.6m.....4R8 @ 4.6 6ton......18.5.........31..................57.5..............113ton GCM
Truck Tare..........Dolly Tare......Float Tare............Total Tare about 10ton.......5ton(ish).......18ton(Ish)............33ton
....................................................................Total Payload .....................................................................80ton
The Best person to talk about this would be Gary W. as he has vast knowledge on QLD weight Laws

I have to say that there are way to many hand rails on that 390, it honestly kinda ruins the look of it. Otherwise its a sick looking machine, love the feller to, great photos!
