Got home today and found that the UPS driver left me a package on the back porch. Inside was the Oshkosh Striker and the Oshkosh H-Series Snowblower. The Striker: The Snowblower: Both of these models represent equipment used at the airport where my wife works. They also have two of the 4x4 P-Series trucks. I already have one in my collection so with two additions my airport equipment is finished. Well maybe not they do have 966f that they use for snow removal as well. Flickr Photostream

The snow-blower is a really nice model very well detailed and worth every penny spent. This is my fourth Sword/TWH model and I have been very pleased with every one of them. Flickr Photostream

I like that Navigator too!! We had a horizontal boring machine here a month or so ago putting in conduit for our electric company. The one shot was about 400-500 feet to the transformer by the building I live in and it was all under pavement. Can we get some other pics of the Navigator and maybe one on the trailer???

It is a great unit. I have heard that Cat finally got the large shovels right with the 5110 machine. I have seen several and they are monsters.

I was surprised at how big they are when I got mine. I do agree with you about the detail. It's pretty top notch work from norscot.

The 5110 is a great model and was a huge leap forward for Norscot at the time of release. Cat did built a 5110FS prototype but it never made production, I remember someone made one using a Shinsei Hitachi EX1800 model a while ago and used the boom swap to make an excavator version of the EX1800. Thanks 89, that does look like a sweet little guy to have for sure!!!
Oh and by the way the snowblower looks great too!! I used to work with Oshkosh snow blowers when I was in the USAF in Maine.
Ours looked like a regular truck (consider the time was back in the 70s to 80s when I was in the USAF) with the long nose and the whole back end was engine for the blower, it was a big 6 cylinder inline something like they'd use in the 5110B.
We had about 9 blowers, 8 were what was called a "Bank Blower" because they had a box blower on the front that was about 7 foot high and had 3 augers with cutting edges on the sides.
The other blower was called a "Highspeed Ribbon Blower", it was similar to the new style blower but from the back of the flat front cab to the truck engine in the back was a blower engine, I'm sure it was the same as the "Bank Blower" engine.
The difference was the ribbon blower could go faster while blowing (up to 15 MPH) where the bank blower could only go about 6-7 MPH.

That's the biggest excavator I've ever seen in person, and let me say the 5110 is huge. Other than that the next largest have been a pc1100, pc1000, cat 385 and then a 365, but the 5110 takes the cake!
