On my venture out today, I also stumbled upon this work site. They had a whole logging operation going on right on the road, with traffic Teeth This project is about clearing the roadside trees.

You can get a very good size comparison with that little van next the 620C

SWEET Action shots, great work. Thank you for sharing. love the one with the spinning head. Those logging cutters always look very transformer/battlebot like to me. G

TFS. The first and second to last are really good pics.

Is this operation in relation to the utility pole replacement, that they are clearing ahead for them?

They did a job like that around here a few years ago to make way for a road widening and highway on and off ramps project. But why are they doing that there?

This is much better than the road work around here. All I get to see is line painting and grass mowing. Then again there are not too many trees in northern Indiana.

Actually there is no relation to this job with the utility pole replacement.

I think they are doing it here because of power outages during every snow storm, instead of delimbing the trees they are just cutting them down, people are getting really tired of loosing power all the time. That would be the only reason I could think of, or maybe they want to widen the road.

I would say the road is going to get replaced or widened. It looks in pretty rough shape already
