There were three Catom trucks sent up to the Empire mine in Palmer ,MI to bring back some parts for a P & H 2100 shovel Back to Oak Creek,WI. The whole shovel is going to be restored and put back together for display. They told us it was going to be put back together at Miller Park in Milwaukee,WI next year. I hauled the boom, Bill got the upper , and Brad got the turn table. Here are some pics from the move. The shovel in the back ground was the last one to get cut up for scrap metal.

Is it just me or are the pictures not showing up? Sounds like an interesting move though.

Great set of pics!!!!!

It sure is nice to see a machine being saved to show the general public. I wonder if it's really going to Miller Park , or right across the street at the P&H factory? That would make for an impressive sign for P&H.....don't ya think?

Great write up and series of pictures. I agree with Greasemonkey, good to hear it's being saved as I would imagine restoring, moving, and reassembling would cost a few dollars.

What do you call the extra piece between the lowboy trailer and the tractor in photo number eight? Does anyone make a 1:50 model of the whole set up?

Gus, the machine is broke down pretty far for shipping. The track pads (not even the whole side) are a truck load. Catom has moved the buckets, less the door, with a weight of 107,000 lbs. I will try and post a picture later.

Nice pictures, glad to see a historic shovel get fixed up rather then cut up. It will really look nice outside of miller park. Nice F150 too.
