Sorry if this is a repost but I've never seen this before.

Cat 340D L Added To Caterpillar’s Large Hydraulic Excavator Section

http://www.gokulconstruction.com/equipments/earthmoving/cat-340d-l-added-to-caterpillar%E2%80%99s-large-hydraulic-excavator-section/

The new Cat 340D L hydraulic excavator was officially launched at the 2011 Beijing International Construction Machinery Exhibition and Seminar (BICES), during an exclusive preview of the Caterpillar booth to the media, a day before the show opened to the public.

Having C9 engine with ACERT Technology thus offers more engine power, and runs at lower speeds for better fuel efficiency / reduced wear and provides a 285 horsepower of net Flywheel power. . The 340D L is the latest addition to Caterpillar’s extensive hydraulic excavator offering in China.

As per Caterpillar the machine would be manufactured in China, but this machine will not only serve the Chinese market but will also be exported to the global market.

Not a bad looking hoe. I like the high and wide undercarrigae and the extended turn table.

But, we will never see one in the States. It amazes me that America, Canada, Austrialia and a few over on the other side of the pond are the only countries in the world that produce that evil ''Green House Gas"!

Are you an enviromentist, or do you work for a living?

Nothing new here, just a 336D HDHW with a cranked-up C9 and new decals.. Some LME's are already mounted this way.

Why would they come with a high rise UC for flat land work? Neat machines though.

I have seen these style excavators before but what does HDHW stand far, haven't heard of this designation before?

Cheers,

Rowan.

HDHW apparently stands for Heavy Duty, High and Wide for the high rise undercarriage, but that's only what I read on another forum. I wouldn't bet on that Wink
