Great review Steven. I've been wondering about this as a HH load and now think I'll buy one. At about 28t weight, it will go well on a step frame trailer I think. Might also look good on the 4 axle low loaders.

Steven,

thank you for the news on this model which is needed to complete the quarry machine setup. Hope to see someone else produce a larger crusher model at a more reasonable price on like the Sandvik which is a good model but price is too out.

Roland.

Whilst not a dirt guy in particular, this model does seem rather nice and a lot of detail, but if I have the exchange rate correct it also has quite a high price tag.

Nice review though.

I'm confused, have Kyowa Miniature Factory purchased the rights to previously released Universal Hobbies, First Gear, NZG, Kyosho, Shinsei etc Komatsu models in an attempt to be the sole distributor for Komatsu or is this the factory that produced the models for the previously mentioned manufacturers?

PS. I love the look of that Challenger MT865C but 1:32nd is an odd scale for my collection Sad Are there any nice scraper pans in 1:32nd scale you could match up?

Rowan.

Kyowa are a Komatsu dealer so they are familiar with the Komatsu machine range. The model of the PC450LC-8 has been in development for 3 years as KMF wanted to create a museum quality replica. They have nothing to do with the models produced by Universal Hobbies, and their version of the PC450 is mainly metal and has a substantial weight to it. The model is finished in the Japanese specifications and my guess is that, as they are a dealer for Komatsu, they are able to commission and sell Komatsu models.

The only issue with the PC450 is the price, although i am not sure how many models have been produced. If it is a low number, then the price is justified.

That Komatsu looks great, fantastic detail, but at about $275 USD, I'll have to definitely pass.
