Beautiful models ex330, I love that Syncrude 495! kokosing Const Co wrote:nice, but what is the real toy on the left?! That appears to be a Holden VE commodore (can't tell if it's a sedan or maybe a Storm Ute?) with aftermarket rims. Something similar to the pic below. I'd also like to see some more pics Rowan. 1:25th scale CAT 375L excavator

The 4100 XPC sure is a nice model. I hope to find a damaged 4100XPC at a reasonable price so I can do a conversion to a 4100C BOSS. I just can't justify ripping apart such a nice model for a major overhaul. RowanH wrote:I love that Syncrude 495! Personally, I'm not a fan...I had to run that POS last night....LOL.

Glad to see you finally got it,you must be over the moon, now you can stop playing in the dirt and get back to the lift side, kidding,
RowanH it's a sedan,Shane's got little kids bit hard to get them to school in a ute,but you should see his ute,bit smaller than a commodore storm ute,but probably quicker,(turbo'd rotary)That's another topic,(Whats your driving toy) Anyway glad you got it after all this time, been along wait, cheers Steve.

Rowan. Do you mean the 495HF painted as 11-90 shovel? If so, it's what the model was based on. It's pretty close, but there are a few differences. Ross, I'll give you 3 guesses as to what colour the shovel will be.......and the the first two don't count......LOL. As for the tracks, the BI tracks are too different. I have a different plan!

Yeah .. It needs some amber marker lights around the back of the house .. Also some ambers on the boarding ladder and oposite walkway. I cannot see the blue service centre on the left hand side either? Unless is painted black? Could you post some pictures of the carbody, Front and back. I cannot post any pictures of the XPC's here to show the lights etc

Dam thats a nice model ... The under side looks spot on .. You could go crazy and model grease injectors etc etc but they are really to small to model.

The problem with adding the details you mentioned Ross, is that they are customer specific options. So, while they may be on one customer's machines, they won't necessarily be on another customer's. The model is a base model, without a bunch of options that may, or may not be on any one machine depending on how it's ordered.

Thats why you need to have Serial number specific parts book and prints .. I bet there isnt an XPC in the valley thats the same .. Silly things like the location of certian I/O's and wiring etc etc .. ex330: Any specific 4100 you are planning to model off? I assume a unit thats P&H colours and has a decent picture reference .. Whats the livery you are planning then Bri? And how are you gonna do the HF tracks? What about the bucket? Do the C-Boss machine's come with the 72 / 76 yard dipper?

I've got a question since some of you actually work around these units. Have you ever seen a real XPC with the graphics on the air-cleaner? When TWH was promoting this at the HCEA convention in '09, they claimed that all future real units would feature this. I have yet to see it yet? Has anyone? Please use this before clicking "post"??? You may be surprised with what you see!
