Where did you get the 5010 (or 5020)? That is big pimpin' right there!

Hey Clause - don't give up on the 9620 yet....I felt the same as you after I got my 485HD and 2 of the Miskin pans. I looked at the Case for a good 6 months and then finally decided to cut it up for parts and change what I didn't like about the Athearn 9620....this is what I ended up with... http://forums.dhsdiecast.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=131387 I have a pair of the 5010s as well. I'm a bit envious of the sheepsfoot drum you have there....I cut up a Siku Hamm smooth drum roller a few years back and have it hooked up to a 5010...but I like what you have there a little bit better! I'm not sure if it was the same seller, but I got my second Case 485HD at a great price as well, that what finally got me going on the custom...looking at your photos of the AG version...has me thinking about adding that one to the collection! Great Pics!

This was what I came up with after dissecting the Siky Hamm compactor - like I stated previously, I like the sheepsfoot you have a bit better!

Thanks for the compliments rakelle. I bought the sheepsfoot off of ebay a few years ago, it was hooked to an Ertl 1/43 Deere 4230, liked the way it looked better on the 5010.

I had this to play with last fall. The drawbar was so thick I had to make a thinner one just to hook up any of our equipment! Had plenty of power though! Jeff M

Thanks Claus. I'll have to look around and see if I can find me a couple of those 5010's.
That Quad Track is awesome! I am seeing more and more of those big Case's replacing Cat Challenger's and the old D6 and D5's in the steep wheat field country of the Palouse in Idaho and Washington, and on the Columbia River breaks in Oregon.
A few of the guys I have talked to about them can nothing but good about them. Being articulated, they will hold traction better while making an uphill turn while dragging a 45 foot air seeder. They supply power at all times to all 4 tracks, unkile a Cat which reduces power to to the inside track during a turn. They also have engine brakes, just like the highway trucks. Those come really handy when pulling grain carts around in the hills, and even while planting or working ground.

Don't laugh but that's what we used it for only by the time we tried to rent a cart this was all we could get! It was only 500 bushels and looked like a cart for a garden tractor! More than 1 horsepower per bushel!
