Hello group, I spotted this being unloaded today and although I'll see her all set up in a few days I was wondering if anybody can identify what model it is?. It's definately a Terex because I saw the counterweights but is it a CC6800?. The problem is I see a small leg in picture 2

It is most certainly a 6800 (unless Sarens has a 5800). Look at the triangle shaped piece in front of the leg you pointed out in the second picture. That part goes between the cross-shaped crawler body "legs" of these cranes, and it is where the car-body weights are stacked.
(I did a lot of research on these cranes when before I started one of my Lego models)

Ah, ok cheers for the info.
I was hoping to see a nice set of crawlers come off the ship but nothing appeared when I was there and as mentioned it looks like the PC6800.
Oh well, I'm sure she'll still be an impressive sight!.

Defo a 6800, if the legs are there then most likely rigged as the PC6800, be a european machine, Sarens UK do not have one.Shame the tracks are not there, might have needed a LTM1500 to rig it Gaz

Jack. wrote:How come you Live on a tiny Island and see so many large cranes!!!! your very Lucky Paul haha Because it's surrounded by several billion barrels of oil!. It's supposed to be a nice day tomorrow so hopefully there will be some assembling of the crane. I also passed a small white Sarens van at lunchtime..... Now, due to the exhorbitant cost of housing and land etc I still live with my parents. We live in a quiet dead end terrace road and when I came home from work I showed the pics to my dad who then very calmly said "oh, there was a small white Sarens van sitting outside the house this afternoon". I said " what was he doing?". My dad said "nothing really, he just sat there for a little while and then left"..... Think of the conversation I could have had and information I could have gleaned

Thanks for the kind comments. Yes, if I keep my eye going I should be able to catch her being assembled but I'm not too sure what she'll be lifting - I have a feeling it'll be those huge offshore reels. I'm not sure if they'll need an additional Sarens crane to assemble her. I would imagine the fact that she was unloaded from the trucks with the crane that's there(see pics) means it'll be able to assemble her?. The only thing better for me would have been the CC800 but I guess I can't complain
