Was just wondering, of those of you reading this that actually purchased one; did yours come in two boxes?......like the BE495s did.........you know the black outer 'TWH' box and then an inner box with the OEM markings and such.
The foam packing blocks on mine wern't taped together and so as I lifted the upper foam block off I then notice some pieces laying around in the box.......irritating.

If any of you who purchased one of these that didn't have any damage or problems would kindly let me know how your 4100 model came I'd greatly appreciate it.
I am tired of always getting damaged goods from this particular supplier when it comes to the big stuff.

Many thanks

Chris

Mine came double boxed, it was packed very well, nice and tight. Maybe they took that out of the box and tried to repack it? I can understand spending over$800 on something and it is not perfect when you get it

Okay that helps. I believe I was sent either intentionally or by mistake a damaged return or display model.
And yes it sucks because I coughted up the $400 as soon as it was announced, have waited patienly all this time even through rumors of the model not being made and people losing their down payments, to this point. I wasn't able to pay the remainder as soon as this supplier started to get theirs in and so am also worried that I won't get much in the way of a choice......rather just the 'bottom of the barrel'.
But alas I opened it up tonight and was unable to contact the dealer but will find time to do so tomorrow no sense in assuming too much just yet.

Heck if the damage wasn't as bad as it seems to be, I would have kept it, tried to make the repairs neede and asked for a break towards a future purchase but some of teh damage is in the railings/cat-walks and not something I want to tackle.

Yeah the foam sheathing around the boom wasn't even there. Some of the little foam inserts that fit into the catwalks or 'balconies' are missing.

I'm thinking more and more that a mistake was made....that the one I got was a return or display piece and wasn't meant for shipment but mastakenly was shipped as 'new' all the same.
Either that or someone is thinking they could maybe get by in pulling a fast one........which I sincerely doubt.

Thank Jason for the help.

The model should be very well packaged. There should be a P&H sleeve around the trays. See more here: TWH P&H 4100XPC Review.

I'd rather keep that bit of info to myself. I hope you can understand that I don't want to throw anyone under a bus especially becaus I believe this was a mistake and the dealer has an unopened one in factory sealed condition to replace this one.

Thanks Ian for the link and input.

I've noticed on my outer box the production count tag says PPO of 2000 does this make sense to anyone?
It certainly doesn't seem like a number and leads me to believe that it stands for preproduction model, which would make a lot of sense.

a Cutter,

Hmmmm........perhaps you should have purchased your P&H 4100XPC from DHS Diecast?

Just a thought.

Hmmm perhaps that's just what I did my dear Randy and perhaps not...........think about that.
I will still keep it to myself as to whom I bought it from.

Here's hoping you get a quick and satisfactory solution to the problem. It's a shame such a nice model came in in such poor shape.

Good luck, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Okay this thread can die off now as far as I care. Made contact today and things will be righted.
Though the model could be a/the preproduction piece, it's not certain and I'll get a completely new one instead and soon.

Thanks for the help and interest fellas.
