The 385 looks sharp with that bucket on! I love the way they're built, realy easy to customize without damaging the model.

I like the Erkat rock grinder, I had no idea there was a model made of these that large! Where did you get the cab screen on the 390 carrying it?

Eric,

This is a ER 5500 for 70+ ton class.

I got the screen from ebay few months back. It's made from brass.

I knew there was a real tool, had the chance to talk to Erkat's representitives at Conexpo 2008, but never knew there was a model! Who made this one?Think

The cab screen looks very nicely done, is it all photo-etched and bent to form the angle support? or is it soldered together? any chance you remember who the seller was?

P.S. how are the tracks working out for you?

Oh,,,Model.... It is made by a German builder few years back.

The rock guard is etched and bent to form the angle. All in one piece. No solder.

The tracks are very nice. If you notice, I changed the tracks on my 390D LME.

I have the tracks on my CX800 HRD, CX 240MH, R954C. All direct fit.

Check PMWink

That 390 looks mean with that rock grinder and front cab guard. Also, how many links did you add per side on the tracks?

A little off topic here, but just wanna share some pics of Eric's tracks. See how it works out on some models.

Hope you guys don't mind.

I have the tracks on my R954C, CX240 MH, CX 800 HRD, and 390DLME. (All direct fit, no modification needed)

R954C ( - 6 pads per side)

CX240 MH ( -10 pads per side)

CX800 HRD ( + 4 pads per side)

They all look great, especially the 390DLME and CX 800HRD.

A question, is the 390 DLME suppose to have smaller track pads? just like the 385C FS

Thanks for sharing the photos! they all look great,

to try to answer your question, it depends on the application, Narrow tracks are commonly used in quarry, hard rock, and demolition tasks, where the machine is traveling over uneven terrain, and flotation is not required. as a general rule of thumb, you want to use the narrowest track possible for the application, this will extend the life of the undercarriage greatly.

Mass Excavators working in rock (carrying hammers, or grinders) would ideally have narrow tracks like front shovels
