Looks like another winner. I'm very glad they decided to do both the front shovel & the backhoe version!

The level of detail is just staggering. I mean, this thing is HO scale, so it´s pretty small. Yet, they are putting a lot more details in it than other comanies do on there huge 1/50 scle models. I know, detail has its price. But just for showing what´s possible, this looks to be one of the best examples.

Wow. It's good to see a company take pride in quality craftsmanship. I won't be buying one but I hope that I'll get to drool all over a keyboard somewhere looking at photos of them on this forum.

I wonder what size this will come out at once fully assembled. I don't have any 1:87th scale pieces in my collection at the moment, but if I were ever to start...... Rowan. 1:25th scale CAT 375L excavator

For reference my 1:87 O&K RH 400 from OHS is a shade under 9" long from the back of the machine to the tip of the shovel and my CCM D11R is a bit over 5" from the back of the ripper to the front of the blade.

You should have started when OHS was a reputable company and was producing the RH400s and MT-4400s! I've heard many different stories about their demise, but cannot say if any of them is true. Some outstanding pieces for a short period of time to be sure! I would guess the 5230 model would be ~6 3/4 inches in the same retracted arm/bucket teeth on the ground position apm2754 described of his RH400. We need a 785 or 789 to compliment this 5230 in my opinion. Please use this before clicking "post"??? You may be surprised with what you see!

The detail is phenomenal. Actually their Terex & Unit Rig trucks were great, too. The MT-4400 was very detailed & the version with the Philippi-Hagenbuch Hi-Vol bed is sweet. I'd agree on the 789. I have 2 of the resin kits from D&K. I guess now I have the motivation to assemble them.

Of course, if they were to do another Cat shovel, I'd vote for the 6050.
