I do not recall seeing a post like this, but here is a thread to show case all the UHDs, LRDs, and TUHDs being owned around the world by certain major demolition companies. When you add the machines, include who owns it, type, pics in action, etc.

Zx1000 looks just like the model except it does not have the railings around the CW, I don't even think the real one uses the four separate weights. Can anyone explain if this is true or why it would be used?

If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you should do it the way i told you to in the beginning.

The ZX1000K is the demolition spec version of the ZX870 and is only labelled that way throughout Asia. Elsewhere in the world, the demo spec machines are labelled the same as the regular excavators, as ZX870's.

The ZX1000K model from NZG is the 1000K as it comes built from Hitachi. Many ZX1000K / ZX870 machines you see on the Internet are not built by Hitachi, rather demolition specialty companies like Rusch, Kocurek, STC and Jewell.

HRD Remco Kruis is a wealth of information and will hopefully be able to contribute. You can check out his website here -> http://www.highreachdemolition.com/

Anyone can contribute Rowan, during the past decade, the use of UHDs is really starting to boom (no pun intended) & there seems no track or list on what companies own them.

well I was just saying that the avenir deconstruction looks just like the model or I guess the model looks just like the excavator in the picture but still doesn't answer why the model uses the separate counterweights.

Rhine also has an EX300LC with a Hitachi Built Boom. Came across it on Flickr. I think they have an EX330LC-5 Too.

Yeah, I would venture to say Rhine has the highest ratio of high reaches to standard excavators in their fleet than any other U.S. demo company... as of a few years ago they had a few more too, some as small as hitachi 200's. they're constantly buying and selling them, most come used, directly from Japan. They'll pick up 5 used machines from over seas bring them to their yard and for lack of a better word "Customize" them like we do with models!

Cool thread that last higth reach looks like a material handeler

Remember when it comes to equipment the older and more obscure the better

Yea I would say Rhine just created a new type of machine, a UHMH, a Ultra-High Material Hander. Although it probably still has the same reach as a regular material handler.

I've been thinking more about what possible application that might have when it hit me. I would guess that particular machine was purpose built for one job, Given their territory, likely a dock removal job in the port of Tacoma. where the machine carried a dangling attachment such as a log grapple or pile extractor.

A little update but I found pics on google street view of the Komatsu 85' UHD I listed on my first post. On the same job as last year, actually saw the boom in person last year. No new UHD news in my area.

Might be seeing both UHD's on a job in the next few weeks.
