There are a number of new models in the works from Drake Collectables and there have been a few great photos posted recently on their Facebook page. I believe some of these may have been posted before but I couldn't find the original posts and thought it might be good to keep them all together in 1 post. Firstly, the prototype chassis of the Kenworth K200. Secondly, the new Drake 3x8 trailer that will accompany the K200. And thirdly, this picture surfaced on the Drake Collectables facebook page this evening. It has some very interesting features. Firstly, both versions of the cab on the new Kenworth K200 can be seen in the background. Secondly, perhaps a hint at what might be coming in the form of a photo underneath the CAT 785? A mine site trailer would be very impressive! Rowan. 1:25th scale CAT 375L excavator

I haven't been able to pull the trigger on any of the first drake sets, but the k200 will be a definite purchase. Really looking forward to it.

Drake are also doing ballast boxes for all liveries same as in photo, minus the spare wheel crane. Also they are doing australian trailers(b doubles and singles) from what I was told,be nice to see some australian trailers, and it's good they are doing the standard and extended version of the sleeper cab of the K 200,I have seen the prototype's of the cabs in person and they look good, will be a nice model.

BAH wrote:there was also this one of Ballast Boxes posted a few days ago Thanks for the find on the ballast box. That is definitely something I have wanted for my lead McAleese truck hauling the CQMS dragline bucket.

I have found if you compare a drake truck to WSI or TECKNO,which are supposed to be 1/50th,the drakes come in around 1/55th,scale to scale they don't match, anyone else found this discrepancy.

Steve,
Is that by Measurement OR just Comparing the Brands?

Somebody post this on the DHS form once before when the model was first released back in 2010 and someone from Drake posted a photo of the tooling model sitting on a ruler ......My mail is that until recently, the Drake, WSI and Tenkno models were all made in the same factory!!!!!! And the wheels and tyre used on the Drake model were the same wheels that were used on the Sword Model which are also made in the same factory
