Ok I have my 1300 put together but I canot get the a frame portion to come down so I can lower the boom by my hand. But I tryed it with the key in my drill and it worked great up until the head broke off now I have no way of raising or lowering the a frame. Any one have any ideas thanks

Yes if I remember right there is some kind of reduction gear for the A frame. Can you contact NZG and get a new key? I'll have to say that the A frame is very stiff.

It was actually not the key that snapped off but what the key attached to to turn it.

I did the samething with my 855. I emailed NZG and they said they do not have the piece for replacement. Its the stud that the winding tool slide on in the drum.

I haven't yet. I used the whip line to reeve the a-frame. Maybe some one could turn a brass piece on a lathe, then file the one end square for the tool to fit. I don't have access to a lathe to try it.

I never ask about that. I just sent them a pic of the broken piece and they said no parts. Let me know if you get anywhere with a whole drum assembly as I try that.

Same problem with my. Is a shame that nzg cant help with some of their models parts. Even on my 11200 the same problem happened.

Ok I sent them an email. If I can't get the whole assembly I'll take and drill and tap it with a screw and put super glue in it.

Maybe someone here could turn some out of brass rod? I wouldn't think it would be too hard. Then file the areas that need to be square. If someone with a lathe could do this I'd buy a few to replace the ones on my 855. I could mail my broken one for measurements.

I assume the piece for the 1300 is bigger then mine. I dont think mine is big enough to drill and tap.

They never should have designed it with that gear mechanism I think. Mine to is very hard to turn, but I keep the Derrick on as I can easily boom up or down using it instead of the a frame. My hs855 isnt that hard to wind, but I still don't like the design of how to wind it up, just made it difficult

We all need to send an email about the same problem last time i emailed them they told me the same thing. No parts for that paricular model. Is a shame. Not like conrad they have most of the parts well at least the ones i was asking for.

Thanks Brandon I should have asked you more questions on it before buying it. But now I know. And mike mine is sheared off at the gear and I have miniature taps.

The A frame line on my LR1300 is tangled around the spindle that the drum is on. When I get home I'm going to have to try and de-rig the a frame and un tangle it all.
