We just added a Cat CT660 to RTI's fleet. It has a 475 hp motor, 18spd transmission, 13,200 front axle, 46,000 rears, 4:10 rear ratio, and Pri-max air ride. It will be used to pull dump trailers and the 55 ton tri axle lowboys.

Thanks guys.
Well every day the looks of the truck grow on me. Caterpillar did a phenomenal job designing the interior. It is easily the most comfortable truck I've ever driven. The visibility is superb and it rides like a dream. The truck is equipped with touch screen GPS navigation, which the drivers love. We haven't been too pleased with the pulling power though. The truck is extremely quiet so when you couple the silence with the fact that the drivers are coming out of 565 ISX Cummins, the power doesn't seem to be there. But its built solid and will fit into the fleet perfectly. It wont gross over 130,000 lbs for us. We will use it on the dump trailer and the 55 ton lowboys. The biggest equipment it will move is 336's and 980's. Anything over 80,000 payloads will go to the 15 liter engines. Our dealer has been extremely responsive too our power complaints and will be putting the truck on a dyno this week. We are waiting for the set forward axle CT680 to come out with a CT15 550 hp. When thats available we will definitely put one in the fleet.

Much success. Cat seems to have thought out their portion of this product well.

One of the local fleet purchasers is running similar horsepower tandem tractors but with the Cat automatic. I spoke to one of the managers and they seem happy with the units they have though I doubt that they will regularly pull the weight you do.

It will be interesting to see how these evolve over the next year or so.
