First and foremost; did anybody here get one of those long rectangular generic white boxes marked Norscot behind the stand near the loco? I couldn't ferret out any information about it.

It was a a shame that there were so few new models there, but I did come home with two 1:50 pieces and one 1:87 piece.

I'll get them out of their boxes for more photos tomorrow.

Please use this before clicking "post"??? You may be surprised with what you see!

Yes, I was really hoping to see more model announcements or releases but so far it's pretty much zilch which is a big disappointment Confused.

Could you post some photos of the R9100 if you get the chance?. At least this model is one bit of good news!.

Thanks.

I'm looking forward to the pictures of the 9100 as well. Sounded like Chris wasn't too impressed which doesn't get my hopes up. If you are able to take some shots with similarly sized excavators, that would be appreciated.

Cheers

Rowan.

The 9100 model wasn't for sale. It was supposed to be a give away for existing, or potential customers.

Does that mean that like some models, it will remain a MinExpo exclusive or do we expect it to be released to the general public in the future?

It was basically a pre-release at MinExpo Rowan. I believe they said it should be released and available to the general public in about two weeks.

That is the way Liebherr tends to be. When the LRB 255 model came out we got two from Liebherr a few months before you could get one from a place like DHS.

Liebherr is also very tight with stuff, unless you buy equipment from them. Then they shower you with stuff.

Well, i'm sure the the actual show was amazing for all those who went to see the real life big kit, but by the looks of things a real anti climax for mining model announcements.

Maybe I got my hopes up too high?

I suppose this means I will be saving cash....

Yeh, I just thought Minexpo would be the perfect place to announce any new mining models but overall it seems nothing for now.....

I'm thinking of the Liebherr T264, T284, R9800 and Cat 795F.....

That's not to say no new mining models are in the pipeline so maybe something will appear in the future Smile

Ha, ha!, Justin, I think I would have given it my best shot!.

'Sorry for not getting this up last night as I'd planned.

The Liebherr R9100 is Conrad #2941/0. I did not attach the included access ladder and mirror in the photos, which come in a plastic bag. After all the rumors of this machine being done in miniature by WSI, I was happy to see the Conrad logo on the sleeve. Hopefully there will be a shovel version in the future considering they used the "/0"?

It's a typical Conrad model in that it is built extremely well and engineered will full range of movement of the attachment. It's not as detailed as many models on the market, but you don't have to worry about handling it like some other manufacturers. Personally, I'm really glad to see that Liebherr is still going to Conrad as well as other model makers. They did a really nice job on the decking I think.

Some comparison photos with the R984C. The only thing these models possibly share are the drive and idler wheels.

The Scania 8X4 has no markings on the box or the model to indicate a manufacturer. The truck doesn't steer but is a very nice piece. Included with the model is a plastic bag containing mirrors and antennae. I can not find this model on eBay or in the Scania webshop? Does anybody here know anything about it?

I had to take this photo simply because of the color coordination.

The HO scale Cummins was a giveaway, and they drew once a day for the 1:18 scale model.

Please use this before clicking "post"??? You may be surprised with what you see!

Hi John,

thanks for the fotos of the Conrad R 9100 model.

Sorry, but I have to say that´s the typical Conrad quality which hasn´t improved for years now. Also parts of the model are not correct (as on the earlier R 984 B/C).

Undercarriage, tracks and cabin (missing tinted glass) are poor modeling.

Here you can see the original machine.

R 9100

A lot of room for further improvments.....and why don´t we see an openable bonnet to see the all new Liebherr V12 engine?

A shame that Liebherr says "OK" to this bad Conrad R 9100.

Regards Ulrich

While i do not have a model in my hands yet, from the pictures i have seen, there does appear to be more fine detailing than usually expected from Conrad, like the mesh walkways, the added piping on the hydraulic cylinders and the flexible hoses.

The models at MinExpo are pre-production pieces and i would not be surprised to see some small changes (Like tinted windows, additional printing) when the production model is released.

Yes, thanks for the photos and I think one of these will be joining my collection. The one tiny thing I'm not so keen on is how big and protruding the walkway outside the cab is.

I would love a mining version with the window protection and like you I'm glad Conrad are still in the market because at least with them you know you're getting a good, solid model.

I'm sure they will improve on detail because it's such a big part of models now.

I'm just guessing from an old memory but I think the Scania could be Universal Hobbies.
