I added a set of intermediate pendant support cables to the boom using a spare 555 equalizer and some very small wire connectors.

Here is a lesson learned, if you buy one of these cranes, make sure the screws that hold the equalizer straps to the mast straps go through the holes in the mast straps. I started to screw the parts together when suddenly, the screw broke right off !!! I don't have easy outs that small so, I had to drill two new holes about an eighth of an inch up the strap. Fortunately, it doesn't show too much.

Here's the crane all rigged:

Now it's back to the crane barge project.

And I thought mine was tall with 4 sections-holy cow sky reacher! How many sections did you add?
Nicely done with the strap. I added the CCM fly jib on mine.

I added three forty foot sections. Makes the boom 240 ft. The maximum with a combination luffing boom and jib is 390 ft !!

Nice Craneman,
How stable is it with that much boom and does it need some help to get the boom up without tipping over.

Wayne, the boom has to have help going up. It is fairly heavy and, it's not worth the risk of breaking something. Once it is on the boom stops, the crane is stable. If you try to turn the crane, it wobbles a little but, it doesn't feel like it's going to topple over. I'm glad I added lead shot to the counter weights; just wish I'd added weight to the ballast boxes also.
